The Worst Case
I looked up from my computer, which I’ve been on all day, and noticed Officer Bob. Bob was a strange looking man who always wore a tie and tux. He had jet black hair and stood in front of a podium at all times. Bob was very funny. He is also the head detective of WWC, which stands for World Wide Cases. I work at WWC 24/7/365.
“Kacie,” Bob said slowly but seriously, “I need you to go on a case that you wouldn’t enjoy.” I aimed my eyes at him, giving him a look that
said, “does it involve pizza or playing uno?” He continued, “There is a principal at Minnesota High,” My mouth dropped in pain remembering that place.
It was the worst year ever, swirles and pinching me signs and pushing in the hallway, and oh oh oh oh don’t get me started on blames.
“As a cheerleader.” He ended his sentence. I was very shocked. There was one more girl at WWC that would fit that role but, Never Ever Ever for me.

Once Upon A Time
You probably wonder why I don’t like cheerleaders. Oh my, it's a tragic story. Once Upon A Time, in a magical land, [well it was actually a horrible land with graffiti on walls and trashed bathrooms, but anyways…] I tried out for the cheer leading squad.
The coach divided the girls into eight groups, 6 girls in each group. We warmed up and in my group I had no competition.
The rule was one kid from each group went
through, so I had a good chance until a girl named Chloe Danes showed up. She had long blond hair and big red lips. I had short blond hair and was jealous of hers. I was a kind girl and she was not. I could tell that just by looking at her. During the tryouts she had a magnificent herky and she did a triple double perfectly.
By the end of the tryouts we both had 10-10. The judges thought we were both amazing and said we could have another round just of me and her.
I got really tired and didn’t know what to do.
She did perfect on everything we did, and got ten of 10. It was my turn to do a herky. I didn’t have a chance because my leg was perfectly straight. She won my group.
That girl was a horrible, snooty, evil little brat and I was done dealing with it, so I decided to trip her. Even though everyone fell over my trips, she didn’t. Chloe always thought she was so cool and now these days, she’s probably a professional cheerleader. That day she stabbed me in the back, and it hurt badly.

Answers
When I was younger, I thought about a lot of weird things. One weird thing was, Why were the Danes so popular? I mean, that was a good question and I’m sure lots of people had the same one. Chole’s mom was a teacher, Chloe’s dad was a businessman, Chloe’s sister was a popular dancer, and Chloe’s brother was a popular football player. For these kinds of questions, I never got answers. I would like to look at the Danes family tree, I'm sure one of
them found the first apple seed.
If you were a Dane, everything was given to you. For example, in Spanish class, 10 years ago, Chole’s sister got A+ even though she got 24 words wrong out of 30. It was either the fact that she was a Dane, or she walked into the class with a crop top and skirt. A girl named Sarah Lossey came in with shorty shorts, a crop top, and lots of makeup, boom straight A’s.
A good question was, if this always happened, why did I have to work? I learned that question easily. I had to work because I was meant to be
found and work at WWC, so I don’t really care if anyone has a problem with me cause, I got a great job and they probably work at McTrumps.
Pepsi and Cheese Its
I came to work the next morning happy and definitely ready for anything. At WWC the day you get assigned a case you sit at your desk and wait for an airplane ticket or car rental. As soon as I sat down a man named George came up to me. Now, I have nothing to tell you about him this time. I only saw his name on his name tag. In a British accent he said “Enjoy your flight.”
I sprinted back to my car and grabbed loads of Pepsi and Cheese Its. What? My ride needs some
food. I’m not paying 10 dollars for Pepsi. I started to hum to the music playing on my radio. The song was Shot Through The Heart And You're Too Late. I paused my humming to get some Pepsi. I started to hum with Pepsi in my mouth which I realized after I did it that it was a minor mistake. I spit out the drink all over my radio and it went out. The Bonn Jovi CD was not only wet with all kinds of chemicals, but scratched too. “No no no.” I mumbled to myself on the highway attempting to catch up to the road. Some idiot car zoomed straight into me. Not only was it a car, it was a 9
cop. My life flashed before my eyes.

Good Talk
The cop ran over to his car trying to see if the cover of it was damaged. Spoiler Alert, it was. “How can you be so stupid to collide into my car?” The man said annoyed to death. I used the same trick that I did for George. “Dominic, Dom, Domster my boy.” He gave me a questionable look. “Got a license.” I smirked, “Yeah.” “Can I see it?” he said. “No,” I responded. He gave me a death stare. “Why?” “Cause I got a bad headshot!” He gave me a very angry look. I got a 1,000
dollar fine.
After a few minutes I got on the road again and listened to that song by Willy Nelson. My phone started ringing and I didn’t want to answer it until I saw who was calling. It was Bob. “Hello.” I said acting like I didn’t know who it was and I wouldn’t have if I didn’t know the phone number for WWC. “This is Eagle 88, the power.” Bob said. He calls himself the power because he is once again, the head detective. It annoys me. “So, I got another complaint about the crazy and suspicious principal. Where are you by the way? The flight
leaves in ten minutes.” I slammed on the brakes in amazement. “Gotta go Bob!” I screamed into the phone. I hung up and went as fast as I could.
I looked in my rear view mirror and saw officer Dom on my license plate. I sped down the road like I never had before. I had 1 mile of gas left. I’m being a maniac! I thought. By the time I had made it to the airport there was about 50 seconds left. I sprinted to the gate (to jump it) until my gut hurt. “Got you now!” Dominic said, getting out of his car. The flight started to lift and I finally got to jump the fence. Dom was directly behind me
when the walkway was closing. Right before it shut I said, “See you, Dommister!”

Wishes
I was so confident after the big fight with Dom. I sat down in seat 202, super proud. The second I sat down I started to worry, I hated heights. I was so scared that I started to wish. I mumbled to myself, “I wish I was almost there, I wish I was almost there, almost there.

Meet You Again
By the time the ride was over it was 2:30. I was satisfied. On the airplane, I had a seat close to the pilot, so I was the eighth person to get off. I never knew how beautiful this town was. Compared to my city, New York, it was so much better. There were no factories or pollution. Instead there were lots of pretty flowers, and all kinds of animals like dogs, cats, horses, and cows were roaming everywhere.
I kept walking to enjoy the area. I walked down
by the train tracks to see all of the graffiti on walls and trains. I saw painted cars and recycled art made with bottle caps. Down by the lake there were many fishes, they were not to be eaten. That’s what the sign said. I played in the water, walked around the boardwalk, and enjoyed the sand. Just after that, I turned and saw my old house.

Cancer
My mom used to play with me in that house all the time. She always had her hair tied up in a long ponytail, with a pink clip. The clip was 800 years old that we found at a pawn shop. She had black hair and brown eyes. One week we went to California and when we came back she had intense skin cancer. She only lasted 2 months. She was my favorite person ever. After she died, I stayed in that house. I worked at the Milk King to get money. When I was 20 I left the house to go
to WWC. Sarah, I’ll always remember that name.

School
The Minnesota Pistons is the name of my school. I opened the front door to the school and it was all the same. The hallway, bathrooms, and even lockers. The office too. “Hi, my name is Kacie, I’m new.” “Right this way.” the instructor repyled. She led me to a room with pictures of the class of 1999. The year I graduated. “Hello,” an obnoxious man said. He had triangle shaped hair and wore a green sweater. He had dark blue eyes and a yellow pair of glasses. “Hi,” I responded.
“You must be Kacie. I’m principal Matthew and this is the Minnesota Piston High School. Not like the Detroit Pistons, like car engines, get it?” I looked at him questionably. “Anyways, the rules here are easy. Just show up on time, be kind to others, and don’t go in the hallway without a hall pass. I smiled remembering there were at least 100 rules when I was here. I started to walk out of the room. “Oh wait,” Matt said really fast, “Here is a book on rules, only 500 pages. Enjoy!” “Thanks, I will.” I reacted sarcastically. I started to walk out again. “Wait, I’m sorry. It’s just that you really
look like a girl from High School Class, Maddie Smith.” I gasped suspensefully.

What?
I stood there in shock, trying to get a grip. “Oh never mind. I’m mistaken.” He said. “She’s twenty.” I walked out of the room feeling lucky.
I was sitting in math class answering a worksheet when I got the easiest equation. 12x12. Huh, that’s 144, easy. There were a bunch of other equations for my mathematical memory, like 2x8. I knew all of them besides 3,296,712 divided by 12. By the way, it’s 274,726. I turned in my paper. I stood at the teacher's desk as she
skimmed through my answers. She gave me an ugly look and wrote something. It was a letter grade and a number grade. When she handed it to me I looked at it. F! -27? I got them all right! “Um, I think you need some help with your math.” She side eyed me “Excuse me?” I got a letter to go to detechen.

Detention
I walked into detention and went to the front desk. "Here's your name tag." a bald rough-skinned looking man said in a groggy voice. I sat down annoyed at the sight of the classroom. It had five old desks and a yellow ceiling. “boom” made a loud noise. "I think the principal is up to something," someone said. I recognize the girl very very much. “Well thanks, but he is fine Mrs. Danes.” Mrs. Danes?

Heather!
I thought Chloe Danes would be a cheerleader, but no, a teacher just like her mother. I kept thinking about Chloe coming in here while time was being wasted. "Kacie Ballard, you may leave now." the director of the detention said. I was so happy to get out, because I've been thinking about Chloe and I guess she is the cheer coach. I'm trying it out. I got even more excited when I went to cheer.
“Alright Girls,” Chloe said, “we need to warm up.
