Once, there was a girl named Ana. She lived in a small town named Russellville and she had always been fascinated by the Spanish language and culture!

Ana had a best friend named Itzel. She was from Mexico and she spoke mainly Spanish at home, which made Ana want to learn Spanish.

As Ana and Itzel grew up together, she began to realize that learning Spanish could open up many doors for her in the future. She realized that she lived in a community where there where many Spanish-speaking people and wanted to be able to communicate with them properly.

Ana continued to grow and started picking up more Spanish classes. She practiced with Itzel and her family often. She even started watching TV shows and movies in Spanish so she could practice at all times.

Although Ana tried very hard, she struggled at times. Grammar and vocabulary rules are hard! But she refused to give up because she knew that learning a new language takes time and effort.
One day Ana's family decided to surprise her with a trip to Mexico! They knew how hard she was trying and wanted her to experience it first hand. She was so excited!

The day had finally arrived for Ana and her family to go to Mexico. When they first arrived, she realized quickly how important it is to know the language to where you're traveling to.
Although she was excited, she was nervous because she still was not completely fluent in Spanish.
As the trip progressed, Ana felt more and more stressed and angry with herself because she struggled trying to understand the people and their language.

Ana didn't let this get her down. Instead, she used this experience as a way to learn and to motivate herself to work even harder.

As Ana continued to practice, she began to feel more confident. She was confidently able to order food in restaurants and even started teaching her parents some Spanish!
