
Annie Easley was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 23, 1933. She was born to Mary Melvina Hoover and Samuel Bird Easley. She went on to attend Xavier university and Cleveland state.
Annie Easley first heard about NACA through a newspaper article when she was reading about twin sisters labeled as "Human Computers." Through this, she discovered that the research center at NASA was in dire need of people with strong mathematical skills.



After relocating from Alabama to Ohio, Easley was in need of a job, so she was able to begin her career at NASA. This job span lasted her 34 years.

Annie Easley was one of the first African American women to work as a computer scientist at NASA. During this time, she was able to achieve many great accomplishments.
