Hello Everyone! Today I will be teaching you how to make Ramen Noodles!

When Cooking Ramen you do not want to cook it with the plastic still on. Due to our metal pot being a good conductor of heat this means it transfers heat easily and rapidly. This is why we don't use a wooden pot because wood takes a long time to heat up which means it is a bad conductor. So if you don't take off the plastic it will melt very quickly.

After, putting the raw Ramen into the boiling water we wait 2 minutes. While this is happening I can explain the convection that is going. When heating up the water the water at the bottom of the pot becomes hotter but this mean the water at the top is cooler this causes the top water to move slower than the bottom water.

pok
This reaction is also an example of conduction. Conduction is the process of heat energy directly transferring through a substance. The heat from the stove is being transferred into the pot which is also transferred into the water.

pok
The pot is also getting hot because of the direction of the heat which is when the energy flow from the highest energy source to the lowest energy source. But, also because of radiation. As a flame burns it conducts radiation and its surroundings get hotter in this case its surroundings is the pot.

pok
You are probably wondering why I'm telling you all this. I'm telling you all of this because it relates to our everyday life, this is because every day when you cook something, this is heat energy being transferred to cook your food.

m=100q
ti=22C
Tf=80C
c=4.186J/gC
q=4.186x100x(80-22)
This is an equation which helps you find the heat gained by water. In this case its the water in our Ramen.
