A little girl named Sana dreamt of being a singer. One day, her teacher,Ms.Channa, asked everyone in her class to share what they want to be when they grow up. Sana raised her hand first and went up to the front of the classroom.
"I want to be a singer" she said out loud and proud, but sadly she did not get the reaction she was expecting.

"You cannot be a singer. You don't have a beautiful voice. Plus you look ugly in those glasses" blurted out a mean boy named Jim. Sana's eyes flooded with tears. Ms. Channa told Sana that is was not true, and she sent Jim to the office. But Sana still felt disappointed for the rest of the day. She thought that this dream was not right for her.

When Sana came back home, her mother noticed the tears and asked her "What's wrong?". Sana shared all about her day in the school and how Jim was mean to her. She also told her mother that she thinks she should quit her dream!
"Oh, don't do that," exclaimed her mother after Sana finished talking "Wait here,I will be right back!". Her mother came back with a necklace in her hands which had a heart shaped red gem in it.

"Wear this necklace. This should remind you to always follow what your mind tells you. Follow your dream. I believe in you." Sana's mother said. Sana took the necklace and put it around her neck.
"Thank you, Mom!" she said with a smile. Her mother smiled back and gave her a warm hug.

The next day at school, Jim ran up to Sana when she was about to go through the school gates.
"So you are still thinking of being a useless singer?" Jim asked rudely. Sana reached for her necklace, and when she touched it, she felt confident, a feeling which is hard to describe but it gave her some sort of courage.
"Yes," She replied, bravely "I will show you that it's not useless. I can and I will. Watch me"

Her dream needed persistence, hard work and practice. So she joined music schools and also pursued bachelors degree in Music. She practiced and learned along with other good students and did things she didn't know of before. Even if she kept on making mistakes, she never gave up and kept on trying until she finally aced it and got acknowledged as a good singer and musician.
