Aa

A is for Anaconda.
An anaconda kills its prey by coiling its muscular body
around the creature and squeezing until the animal can no
longer breathe.

Bb

B is for Bat.
Bats are nocturnal, this means they sleep during the
day and are awake at night.

Cc
C is for Camel.
Camels humps are used to reduce the heat trapping
insulation across the camels body, allowing them
to survive in intense heat.

Dd
D is for Deer.
Most deer are born with spots, but lose them after a
year.

Ee
E is for Elephant.
Both female and male African elephants have
tusks.

Ff
F is for Flamingo.
Flamingo's are one of the longest living birds, they
often live up to 40 years old.

Gg
G is for Giraffe.
Giraffe's are the tallest land animal on the earth.

Hh
H is for Hippopotamus.
The name hippopotamus means "river horse", Hippos are
found in Africa.


Ii
I is for Iguana.
Green Iguana's are 6.5 feet long and weigh between
10-15 pounds.

Jj

J is for Jaguar.
The jaguar's scientific name is Panthera onca.


Kk
K is for Koala.
Koalas are native to Australia. Koalas are
marsupials not bears.

Ll
L is for Lion.
A lion's roar can be heard up to 5 miles away.


Mm
M is for Monkey.
There are currently 264 known monkey species.

Nn
N is for Nile Crocodile.
The average lifespan of a nile crocodile is 70-100
years.

Oo
O is for Ostrich.
The ostrich is the largest living bird. However, it can
not fly because it is too heavy.

Pp
P is for Parrot.
Most parrots live in tropical areas and are usually
brightly colored.


Q is for Quetzal.
In Guatemala, quetzals are the national symbol.

Rr
R is for Rhinoceros.
The name rhinoceros means "nose horn" and is
often shortened to rhino.

Ss
S is for Sea Lion.
Sea Lions can swim at burst speeds up to 25 miles
per hour.

Tt
T is for Tiger.
A tiger is the biggest species of the cat family.
