Aa is for acorn barnacles. They help you grip on a
slippery seashore. They can also give you a nasty
scratch when you do slip.


Bb is for brittle star. Brittle stars resemble the
starfish. They are the filters of the sea, they eat
plankton and detritus from the seashore.


Cc is for crabs. Most crabs will live for about
three years. When a crab loses a claw, they
can grow it back.


Dd is for dogfish. Their skin is like sand paper
and have spots. They are sometimes called the
spotted dogfish.


Ee is for edible crab. They are known for their
"pie crust" edge. They can grow up to be 28 cm
long.


Ff is for flatfish. They are named flatfish because
they are flat like a pancake. They change their
color to blend in with their environment.


Gg is for giant clam. No two giant clams are the same
color. Each clam has their own unique combination of
colors.


Hh is for Hermit Crab. As they grow, they search for a
new shell. Once they find a new shell, they drop their
current one and try on the new shell. They hide in their
shell when they are bothered.



Ii is for Ivory Cerith. These shells can be found
in the sand along the seashore or inside the
ocean.


Jj is for Jellyfish. Jellyfish have lived on Earth for
millions of years, even before dinosaurs! A group
of jellyfish are called smack.


Kk is for Kelp. They are seaweed or algae. They
are also known as the rain forest of the ocean.


Ll is for lumpsucker. They are all round and have
a sticky circle underneath them that lets them
stick to rocks and other fishes.


Mm is for Mussels. Some mussels can live to be
up to 50 years old. Although, some may live for
about two years.


Nn is for Northern Red Anemone. They live their
lives attached to a rock. They eat small fishes
by stinging them.


Oo is for Orange Sponge. It is mainly found on
rocky shores and feels very rough.


Pp is for Pink Shrimp. They are named pink
shrimp because they turn pink when they are
cooked.


Qq is for Queen Conch. As conch age, their shells
become thicker. They can live up to 20-30 years.


Rr is for Rockling Fish. These slimy fishes live in
shallow water, in between rocks and feed on
smaller fishes.
