This book is to my best super duper super awesome friend forever, Nora. -Nalyn

Once upon a time, there was a moon goddess named Selene. She gave birth to six children, Diana, Hala, Cresent, Chandra, Aine, and Midnight. All her daughters were born with hair as white as the moon can shine. Except for Midnight. She was born with hair so black you would think it was ink.

Diana Hala Cresent

Chandra Aine Midnight
But Selene loved each and everyone of her children dearly including Midnight. Diana, the eldest found this problematic, so when she turned twelve, she ran to her mother and told her that Midnight was a curse. Selene believed her daughter, because Diana was eldest. It made sense. So they erased Midnight's memory and set her of to Earth, were the "curse" couldn't hurt them.

When Midnight arrived on Earth, she landed in a village. All the villagers were just as confused as her. A couple who wasn't able to have children took her in, but when they took a close look they realized she was sent by the moon goddess, for she had a sliver moon on her forehead. But they thought it was better not to let her know. So for most of Midnight's life she was known as Marie, a normal village girl.

While Marie spent her time on Earth, things did not go well in the Moon realm. Selene realized what a monster her beautiful daughter Diana was. You see, Diana was the most beautiful out of all her sisters, which made her feel very important. And then one day, she sneaked into her mother's Queen chamber. Where the Moonstone was held, a powerful crystal that held up the whole Moon Empire. And Diana took it to drain out her sister's power's and soon her own mother's.

And once Diana got her hands on her sister's powers, it was Selene's turn to be drained of her magic. But she remembered, Diana couldn't get her hands on Midnight nor Hala. Why Hala you ask? Well many years ago, after Midnight was sent to Earth, Hala left. She left so she could have a different life. One where she didn't have to use her magic all day long. And where she was Marciana, meaning war-like.

Selene knew that Hala might not respond to her warning call. And she was right Hala did not. For she had fled to the land of stars and became a warrior, and she was trained to use the magic of the stars. Therefore Hala couldn't respond, without glitching off. But Diana found Hala, she took away all her magic including her ability to control the stars. And with that Hala was gone. Into the heavens like her other sisters.

But Selene had one more daughter in secret, and hid her away, in the palace of the Nevaeh. The Goddess of the Heavens. The girl's name was, Dawn. Like her other sisters she had white hair, but her eyes were white as well, pale meaning she was the moon at day.

So she went and asked Nevaeh what to do.
Nevaeh told her, "Go down to Earth and find Midnight, but before you do make you look like a village girl, and take Midnight's memory with you. It is located in The Moon Palace."
