This story is about how Monty the Monkey went 

bananas. Enjoy!

Once upon a time, there lived Mr. and Mrs. Hippo, 

who lived deep in the jungle. They wanted a baby, 

but Mrs. Hippo could not have children. All she 

wanted was a baby to take care of, and one day she 

did get one. 

It was a cloudy day, drizzling rain outside. Mr. and 

Mrs. Hippo were sitting on their couch, watching the 

news, when there was a knock at the door. Mrs. 

Hippo ran to get it. She opened the door, and no 

one was there. Except, for a basket with a baby 

monkey in it. She picked up the basket and brought 

it inside. Maybe I can keep him, she thought. There 

was a note attached to the basket. She read it.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hippo,

I heard you wanted a baby. Here he is. I don't 

need him. His name is Montgomery. I hope you 

enjoy his company. Oh, and 1 more thing, if your 

nice to him at first, he will like you. If you start 

out mean, he will hate you. Enjoy!

So Mr. and Mrs. Hippo decided to keep him. He was 

a wonderful child, and very bright. They loved him. 

They called him Monty. Everyone was nice to him, 

until now. Remember how the note said, "He will 

hate you if you are mean to him"? Well, that is 

true. But he won't just hate you, he will...

Here is the story of Monty's first day of school!

Monty woke up and bounced out of bed. He was 

very excited for his first day of school. He met his 

mother at the table. 

"Here is your special banana cereal for your first 

day of school, Sweetie!" she said as she placed a 

bowl of banana cereal in front of him. 

At school, Monty was greeted by the teacher.

"Hello Monty, you can take a seat at this table with 

Moose and Puppy." She said. 

Monty took a seat at the table. Moose started to 

giggle. 

"What is so funny?" Monty asked, feeling annoyed.

Then Puppy started to giggle, too. Monty got more 

and more curious.

Recess came and they still were giggling. "WHAT?" 

Monty asked once again. 

"Well, your ears are huge! You look like an elephant 

with an ear infection!" Moose snorted.

Puppy laughed. Monty's face got as red as a tomato. 

He lost it. Monty went CRAZY!   

Monty went BANANAS! He ran around like a crazy 

person and Moose and Puppy laughed even more. 

Monty got even angrier! He ran inside and Puppy and 

Moose followed him, taping him on their tape 

recorder. Monty reached into his backpack and pulled 

out his bow and arrow. He pulled the arrow back and 

shot Moose in the head, then shot Puppy. They died. 

Monty still wasn't done. He carried his bow and 

arrows all around town and shot the people who 

laughed at him. He went CRAZY! He killed at least 

ten people. He still didn't calm down.
