" As Dreams Come True" - Ford Motor Company

Henry Ford was born on a farm on July 30, 1863, Springwells Township, Michigan. Henry received a watch when he turned thirteen years old he took it apart and put it back together successfully and that's when he discovered his love for machines. At age sixteen he moved to Detroit to pursue his interest in machinery. He was employed at the shops of James F. Flower and Brothers repairing steam engines. In 1891, he was employed as an engineer at the Edison Illuminating Company of Detroit. He became chief engineer on November 6, 1893.
Henry Ford's Quadricycle was built in 1896 he worked night and day to ensure his dream came true. The Quadricycle was built from wood it had four bicycle wheels- two on each side and a cushy seat in the middle with the engine below it . It weigh about 500 pounds without fuel and it has two speeds of 10 MPH - 20 MPH. It had no reverse gear, but there was a doorbell placed for a horn. The motor became alive with only fixable failures along the way.
Although his quadricycle was not a success Ford kept going. In 1901 Ford built his first automobile race model. He joined the races to gain popularity from the press and investors for his company idea. Soon enough he went against famous automobile racer Henry Winton where he won with his Ford 1901 "Sweepstakes" car. After Ford's victory he was famously known and received financial help to found " Ford Motor Company" in 1903.
In 1908 Ford introduced the Model T. Henry made sure the car was affordable and durable. It was the first mass production vehicle making Model T a universal car. The Model T had a steering wheel on the left, easy shifting gears, included a tool kit, the tank gas was underneath the passenger seat, and lastly a windshield was added. Sounds similar to the cars we see today? It's over 100 years old, but it's still the most famous car in history.
