Facts about Providenciales!
Providenciales, known locally as Provo, is an island in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s ringed by soft, sandy beaches, many of them on the north coast. These include expansive Grace Bay Beach, a water sports hub with resorts, shops and restaurants. The island's snorkel sites include Smith’s Reef and Bight Reef. The turquoise lagoon of Chalk Sound National Park is dotted with tiny cays.

The colonial-era Her Majesty’s Prison retains its cells and exercise yard. Island history exhibits at the Turks and Caicos National Museum include artefacts from a 16th-century shipwreck. It would be a crime to have a list of the best food in Turks and Caicos without first paying homage to the island nation's national dish: Cracked Conch. One of the most beloved dishes throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands is conch (pronounced konk). Conch is the sea snail that is derived from the queen conch shell that can be found throughout the islands and is even featured on the Turks and Caicos Islands flag.

Steamed fish, peas n' rice, and coleslaw. Locally caught snapper will almost always be served as a whole fish. If you get a fillet, it's likely imported!
