It was a beautiful day in Stapleford. The sun was shining and it was 26°C outside. But Molly stayed in. She normally would have played in the garden or on the park but she just didn't want to. As Molly was now 14, Mrs Bustlebar (her mum) didn't care much about what she did and Molly often looked after herself. Today, she just had this strange feeling that anything she did would make her upset so she just sat on her bed and looked out the window. She thought about going outside but decided not to. Then she thought she might be ill but her temperature was normal. She didn't even feel a little bit sick. She just didn't know what to do. Molly started to feel hungry so she went downstairs and made a sandwich. This was also unusual as she usually cooked a hot meal like sausage and beans or chicken nuggets and chips. She never had sandwiches. They were one of her least favourite meals.

Then, Mrs Bustlebar noticed Molly's strange behaviour and asked her if she was ok. Molly just nodded and went back up to her bedroom. This was also strange as Molly is a girl who loves talking - even if it's in a fight. But when Molly opened the door to her room, she stepped right into a forest. Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind her and dissappeared.
''Hello Molly,'' said a voice coming from one of the trees, ''we are glad you're here.''
''Who are you?'' asked Molly, ''where am I?''
The voice answered, ''I am the trees.''
Molly was very confused and asked once more, ''Where am I?''
''You're in Mystic Forest and we need your help,'' replied the voice.
Then Molly noticed a patch of purple on one of the trees and asked,

''Why are you purple?''
''Evil forces,'' replied the voice, ''they're after us. Now you need to go back home, find ten black swirls and catch them.''
''But what do they look like and how do I catch them?'' asked Molly.
''You will know when you see one,'' said the voice, ''now go.''
Suddenly, Molly's bedroom door appeared behind her and, before she could say another word, Molly was pulled back through it.

In about two seconds, Mystic Forest had gone and Molly found herself standing on the soft, carpeted floor in her bedroom. Molly was in a state of shock and couldn't move her body for a few minutes. Suddenly, she saw something on her window. It was a black swirl, just like the voice had told her about. Molly ran to her window, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move the swirl. It felt like it had been glued onto the window. But then, she spotted something glowing. It was the vacuum cleaner. Suddenly, an idea came into Molly's mind. She could use the vacuum cleaner to suck the swirl off the window. She tried this and it worked straight away. One down, nine to go thought Molly.
''Dinner's ready!'' called Mrs Bustlebar who had been cooking a sunday roast in the kitchen. Molly ate hers fast and went back up to her bedroom. But on her bed, she saw another black swirl. She tried using

the vacuum cleaner again but it didn't work. Then she noticed that her pillow was glowing so she pushed it away with her pillow and the swirl dissappeared. Two down, eight to go thought Molly. She looked at her clock and realised it was 9:30pm. She got into bed but couldn't sleep for at least two hours. The next day, Molly woke up to find another swirl on her bedside table. She looked around and saw that the photo of her on her bedside table was glowing. She used the photo to make the swirl dissappear but then Molly found herself standing in Mystic Forest.
''Good work,'' said the voice, ''you have found three of the ten swirls. I assume you know how to catch them now.''
''Yes I do,'' answered Molly, ''an object glows and I use that object to make the swirls dissappear.''

''Good,'' said the voice, ''but us trees don't have long before we turn completely purple. Some of us are nearly purple already.''
''I will try my best,'' said Molly and in a flash of light she was back in her bedroom. She looked around but there were no more swirls. She went out in the garden for a bit then asked Mrs Bustlebar if she could invite Poppy (her best friend) round for a play. Mrs Bustlebar said yes but they would have to stay in the garden as she had to write a letter to her boss at work. When Poppy came over she brought her lego set so Molly sat with her at the garden table to do it. By the time they had finished, Miss Lannovi (Poppy's mum) was waiting in the garden for Poppy. Molly sat at the garden table for a few more minutes before going inside. Mrs Bustlebar asked if Poppy had gone and Molly said yes then went back to her bedroom. When she got there, she immediately spotted another

swirl on her window sill. She noticed her hair clip glowing so she clipped it onto the swirl and, as usual, the swirl dissappeared. Molly made sausage and beans for dinner that night. Not long after dinner, Molly got into bed and tried to go to sleep when she realised that another black swirl had appeared on her carpet. She quickly got out of bed and noticed her pyjama trousers glowing. She took off her trousers and wrapped the swirl in them. When she unwrapped her trousers, the swirl was gone. Only five more swirls now thought Molly. She was asleep by about eleven o'clock that night. When she woke up, she went downstairs to get a bowl of cornflakes. Then she went back to her bedroom hoping to find another swirl but she didn't. Molly sat on her bed reading a book when a swirl appeared on page twenty-seven of the book. As she looked around, she saw her window glowing. She quickly got off her bed and dashed to

the window. Molly threw her book out of the open window and when she went to collect the book, the swirl was gone. But as she tried to go back inside her bedroom, she found herself once again in Mystic Forest.
''You have only four more swirls now,'' said the voice, ''but you don't have long. Most of us are nearly purple already.''
''I will try my best,'' said Molly.
''Be quick,'' said the voice, ''some of us only have about three more days until we turn completely purple. Then we won't be able to turn back to our normal colour, brown.''
