Like minecraft PvP?  Want to just get better?  Then you should read this! PvP stands for Player vs Player and can be team based, free for all, or somewhere in the middle. These are the best general tips for winning any pvp based tournament. The list starts at the best but a lot of them are actually equally useful in different situations.

1 level of gear

Armor: You want to get netherite armor because it is the strongest and provides the most defense. You can also upgrade this with enchantments such as protection IV and unbreaking. If you have unbreaking I, II, or III you can match that with thorns I, II, or III. If you have a higher thorns than unbreaking your armor will break in fights.

Weapons: Of course you want netherite again, and I suggest an axe and a sword both with sharpness V. The sword is the typical weapon with ok damage and fast attack speed. The axe has considerably slower attack speed, but does lots of damage and can disable a shield for 5 seconds. Next, the bow and crossbow with enchantments, like infinity and piercing, can be deadly weapons with the bow's quick reload time and the crossbow's ability to save shots. 

2 strafing:

Strafing is pretty simple. You just tap the a and d keys back and forth. Which allows you to dodge your opponent's attacks, and hit them.  This allows you to get extra hits and get your opponent into a combo.

3 speed bridging 

There are many different ways to speed bridge. One of the best ways is tally bridging. Tally bridging is where you jump off the edge of your bridge, place a bunch of blocks under you connecting to the bridge, land on the blocks, and repeat. This way is very hard, so I recommend first doing the simple crouch bridge. Or if you are more advanced, you can do a tab crouch bridge. To do this, you need to make a small tower, two blocks high. Then walk backwards towards the edge of the tower, crouch and place a block, uncrouch, and repeat.

4 fishing rod and shield 

Fishing rod: You can use this to draw your opponents closer by fishing them and reeling them in. This has no cool down so you can spam. Warning they can break quickly while spamming. You can get a fishing rod by putting two strings and three sticks in the shape of a fishing rod on a crafting table. 

Shield:  You left click to use it while it is in your off hand. It will block attacks but it comes with a drawback, you can't hold a totem of undying and it can be disabled for 5 seconds by a axe.

5 projectiles/bows 

 Snowballs: They don't do much damage, but they have a lot of knockback, so if you are in a high place they can be really helpful. They are also very cheap and easy to get. To get them you just go to a snowy biome and mine the snow. 

Bows: they are really long range and with enchantments, such as power, they do a lot of damage. They are kind of expensive early game, but late game they are easy to get once you have spider string. 

6 enchantments

Enchantments are some of the best ways to protect yourself and get maximum damage.

The best for armor are:

(1) Protection IV, 

(2) Unbreaking III makes your armor break slower, 

(3) Mending, XP mends the durability, 

(4) Feather falling IV, makes you fall slow and take less fall damage, and 

(5) Thorns III sometimes when your opponent hits you they take damage too.
