Sydney,
You are such a radiant star!
May you always find friendship and courage wherever you are!
Love Mom

In a garden close to Annapolis Bay,
By the Naval Academy,
where children would play,
Here lived Carrot and Kale,
best friends they say,
But this tale begins on their very last day!
"Time to move," said Farmer Joe,
"Make way for new clay.
This crop is too old,
and the garden must pay!"
So all the plants knew
they'd soon go away,
No more watching sailboats
or NAPS children play.
Carrot and Kale,
they felt so sad,
"Will we still be friends?"
being a part would be so bad.
For near the Naval flag,
they loved their display,
But destiny seemed
to take that away.
"Hey, I got an idea!"
Carrot did say.
"We're not just dirt stuff—
We make kids' day!
Let's make some magic
That won't go away.
Something so cool,
They'll want us to stay!"
So, at night, they whispered to Firefly Ray,
Who carried their message in a luminous array.
