In the ancient Javanese kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess named Roro Jonggrang. She resided in a magnificent palace alongside her king and the kingdom's people. The people adored Roro Jonggrang for her kindness and beauty.

However, across the kingdom, there was Raja Bondowoso, a powerful and evil demon king. He fell in love with Roro Jonggrang and wished to marry her. However, Roro Jonggrang rejected him, knowing Raja Bondowoso's wicked nature.

Enraged by Roro Jonggrang's rejection, Raja Bondowoso decided to seek revenge and launch an attack on Roro Jonggrang's kingdom. Roro Jonggrang had to find a way to stop this impending assault.

Roro Jonggrang gave Raja Bondowoso an impossible challenge: to build a thousand temples overnight if he wished to marry her and prevent the attack.

With the assistance of benevolent supernatural beings, Raja Bondowoso almost succeeded in completing this incredibly challenging task. The number of temples grew rapidly.
