Spencer was a hard working garbage truck. Each 

morning he would go around and around to all the 

houses in the neighborhood and collect

trash. Spencer loved his job because kept the city nice 

and clean.

Spencer was a hard working garbage 

truck. Each morning he would get up at 

the crack of dawn when all the boys and 

girls were still snug in their cozy little beds 

dreaming their cozy little dreams.

Spencer loved his job, he always made 

sure to go to each and every house in the 

neighborhood and pick up the trash so that 

the streets were kept nice and clean.

One day, while Spencer was out on his 

morning route, a big dark thundercloud rolled 

in. The thunder clapped! The lighting struck! It 

started pouring rain! 

Spencer could hardly see, his truck was filling 

up with water fast and he started to swerve off 

of the road.

All of a sudden Spencer got washed down the 

hill and lodged up into a tree!

Spencer was wet, confused and scared.

Just when he thought he was going to cry, he 

heard a deep voice say, "Now, now fella no need 

for tears, you're already soaked"

"Who said that?" asked Spencer. "I did" the voice 

boomed. Spencer managed to squeak his eyes up 

to see two great big eyes and a wise old beard. 

"Who are you?" asked Spencer. "I'm Mister Tree 

Man" replied the old tree. "Mister Tree Man can you 

help me?" Spencer asked. "Why I'm just a wise old 

tree, I can't move." said the tree. "But if you can't 

help me, who can?" whimpered Spencer

Just then, Mister Tree Man and Spencer heard 

a sound. "Ooh ooh aaah aaah eee eee!" They 

both looked up and saw a Monkey. "Who are 

you?" asked Spencer "My name is Monkey, get 

it? ...and I'm a monkey, What happened to 

you?" asked Monkey

"I'm stuck" said Spencer

"He's stuck" copied Mister Tree Man

"Can you help me?" Spencer asked Monkey

"Well I don't know but I can try" said Monkey

"Oh thank you!" cried Spencer "Now I can get 

back to work and collect all the trash so the 

streets will be nice and clean!" he exclaimed. 

Monkey started jumping up and down on 

Spencer "ooh ooh aah aah!" When that didn't 

work he tried to use his banana to wedge him 

out of Mister Tree's branch but all that 

happened was Monkey's banana got mushy. 

Spencer not only was wet, now he had 

smeared banana all over him!

"Oh boy this is going to be a long day" sighed 

Mister Tree Man

"If Monkey can't help me, who can?" Cried 

Spencer

"Did somebody say they needed help?" a voice 

said from out of no where.

"Who are you?" asked Spencer

"I'm Raffi" said the Giraffe

"I'm stuck" said Spencer

"Hi Stuck nice to meet you" said Raffi

"No, my name is Spencer! and I am stuck! Can 

you help me?" said Spencer

"Well I can sure try" said Raffi

"Oh boy oh boy thank you! Now I can make it 

back to work to collect all the trash so that the 

streets are nice and clean!" exclaimed Spencer
