Space Travel

The day was like any other day except the boys were
going to be the first children to brave space travel and
land on the moon. Timmy was ecstatic, Tommy was
not. “Yay,” cried Timmy. “Blasting bother bat!” Tommy
complained. “Liven up Tommy,” Dad said, “this is a once
in a lifetime opportunity!” The twins boarded the space
ship, closely followed by dad, along a metal ramp leading
out from the funny shaped building they were just in
before. The boys stepped in side and were shocked by the
freezing cold air that met them. There were flashing lights,
many flashing lights, the controls keeping them safe over the
many days that they would spend in space.

The views, oh, the views were amazing. Australia and its
brown deserts. Then icy Antarctica, its frozen surface as white
as a dove. The boys could see the whole earth. Clouds swirling
in the sky and blue oceans covering the rest of the Earth. All
the passengers were in awe and there was silence while they
took it all in. “Blasting bother bat!” Tommy muttered.
Suddenly feeling extremely nauseous.

Several days later, the ship made contact with the surface of
the moon and all the passengers woke up with a jolt. The
passengers ate a breakfast of tubed nutrients food. Timmy
thought tasted disgusting but he ate it anyway. The crew
issued everyone a space suit. “These are so cool!” Timmy
yelled excitedly. The crew members split everyone into groups
and gave them a tour of the moon. “What ever you do you
cannot go behind that cliff,” the tour guide warned the group.
Of course Timmy, bursting with curiosity, wanted to go behind
that cliff.

Later, back in the space ship, Timmy walked into his brother’s
room, his helmet in his hands. “No we can’t,” Tommy said,
already knowing what his brother was going to ask of him.
“Please,” Timmy pleaded, “we’ll be back within thirty minutes
and if you don’t come I’ll go by myself!” Timmy stormed out of
the room. Tommy followed just to make sure his brother didn’t
do anything too stupid. He ran and caught up with Timmy.
“Alright,” Tommy said, “ I better come and keep an eye on
you.” Once outside, the brothers hurried to the cliff and were
shocked at what they found.

The animals, aliens or whatever they were, were prowling
around and digging the ground up, obviously in search of
something. The aliens’ green skin and bulgy eyes made them
look very fierce. Timmy tried to get closer by hiding behind a
close rock. As he got closer, the alien’s antennae twitched.
Suddenly the aliens spun around, capturing the two boys and
placing them in laser barred prison cells. The twins were
loaded onto a ship, smaller than the one they arrived on, and
were flown off towards the aliens’ home planet. “Blasting
bother bat!” Tommy complained, “How will we ever get
home?”
