Once upon a time, in a faraway village, lived a 

knight named Sir David. Years ago, Sir David had 

been sent to protect the villagers, but he soon 

came to realize that there was little for him to do 

in the quaint setting. Eventually, fed up with his 

boredom and feeling a bit lonely, Sir David 

decided to set out in search of adventure.

For many days, Sir David traveled the path out of 

his village, looking for people to help or monsters 

to slay. To his dismay, his search proved to be 

unfruitful.

As the days of solitary travel wore on, Sir David found 

himself becoming more and more lonely. He may not 

have ever felt like he belonged back in the village, but 

at least there were people around. He needed a 

friend.

One night, as Sir David trekked through the 

woods, he heard a noise in the distance. The 

deeper into the forest he traveled, the louder the 

noise became. He realized it was a howl. There 

was a creature in the woods! Finally, here was the 

adventure he was looking for!

Drawing his sword, Sir David crept towards the 

source of the howling. It was not long until he 

found himself face to face with an unusually large 

wolf. He prepared to strike.  

Just as soon as his weapon was taken out of its 

sheath, Sir David replaced it. All it took was one 

look for him to realize the wolf was no fearsome 

beast. The wolf was wagging his tail and appeared 

to be smiling at Sir David! Slowly, he approached 

the wolf to pet him and the animal instantly 

nuzzled himself against Sir David's armor. Here 

was the friend Sir David was looking for! He 

named the wolf Spartacus, and the two were 

never separated again.
