Why People Abuse Drugs

To relieve physical pain ; It is one of the most common reasons that people misuse prescriptions. Even if the reason for misuse was to relieve physical pain and that was the purpose for which the prescription drug was prescribed, it is still considered misuse to use a prescription drug without a prescription of one's own or to use it at a higher dosage or more often than prescribed.

To relax or relieve tension ; by slowing brain function a lot of people use drugs to relax or relieve tension. And get addicted to that feeling so they keep going and cause an overdose.

To be happier or relieve depression ; when these drugs bind to opiate receptors on the neurons that control dopamine release, it triggers an unnaturally high rush of dopamine, and they target the brain's reward system and flood the circuit with dopamine, a neurotransmitter that regulates movement, emotion, and feelings of                        pleasure, which make people feel a                             false sense of happiness.
