Johnny is a selfish Porcupine. Looking for friends, he sets out on a journey and meets Sally the squirrel, Otis the owl, and Felix the fox. They teach him the meaning of sharing, caring and friendship. Johnny treats them, and all the animals in the forest, to a suprise at the end. What could it be?
"There are no strangers in here, just friends you haven't met..."
-Roald Dahl

This is Johnny's home. Johnny is a rather selfish porcupine, and because of this selfishness, he has no friends.

He lives on the edge of the forest by himself, waking up every morning alone.

He gets ready for the day by brushing his teeth and quills.

He stumbles outside to see how beautiful it is.
It sure would be nice to spend time with friends.

Johnny decides to set out on a journey to find some friends.

Just a short way down the path, Johnny meets Sally the squirrel.
Hi Johnny, can I have some quills to use for decoration on my purse.
No, Sorry.

Johnny walks down the path, accidentally dropping a quill as he leaves.

Johnny decides to go to Otis the Owl's treehouse.
Do you want to hang out for the morning?

We can hang out today, but only if you give me a quill to use as a pen for my new book.

None of my pens are working, and I was going to go to the store to buy a new one. If I could have a quill, I wouldn't have to go to the store and we could hang out.

Johnny, once again, declines. As he leaves, a quill falls on the ground without him knowing.

Hi Felix, where are you going?
I'm going to get supplies to make jewelry for my wife. Any chance I can have some quills?

Johnny politely declines at the crossing in the road. Felix goes one way, and Johnny goes the other, just as Johnny drops another quill.

Frustrated with not making any friends, Johnny decides to go home.
He takes a shortcut through the heavily wooded shrubs and thorn bushes.
