I learned about Dia de los muertos (The day of the dead) and that it's a festive holiday celebrated in Mexico and some parts of Latin America. I also learned it's traditonally celebrated with alters for the ones who've died.

I also learned about altars which are a big part of Dia De Los Muertos, I learned that altars have pictures of loved ones and items that associate with them. For example, if a loved one like soccer there'd be a soccer ball or if they liked a certain object that object would be there.

I learned about the cempasúchil (marigold flower) which I found out that it is a flower traditonally put on altars to attract the souls of the dead. There's usually a lot of these flowers which stand out.

There's usually multiple layers on alters some to deal with different generations or parts of families. Angelitos are people under 18 who are believes to be angels, because they're believed not to have been able to have commited any sins. Angelitos usually have toys on their parts of alters.

I found out about pan de muerto (bread of the dead) which is a sweet bread usually found in the center with a crisscross shape to resemble bones.

I was taught about calaveras (sugar skulls) which I found out are traditonally put on altars to represent life and death. These sugar skulls are decorated to represent Dia De Muertos, they're edible because they're a sugar mixture with frosting and icing decorations.

I also learned about ofrendas which is a celebration of the day of of the dead, I also found out about Papel Picado which is colorful paper that are hung near alters.

The last thing I learned about day of the dead is copal which is a tree resin with a good smell that's put on altars.
