Do you know the first teacher who attempted to go to space? In this informational writing, I will tell you about my life as Christa McAuliffe.
I was famous for many reasons. First of all, I was the first high school teacher chosen to join the NASA Teacher in Space project on July 19,1985. I developed lessons and was going to everyone about Space. NASA wanted to find a gifted teacher who could communicate with students while in orbit. Next, I was going to experiment with fluids and demonstrate Newton's laws of motion for schoolchildren. After I have been selected for the position I had a week of medical examination. On January 28,1986 I boarded the Challenger with the six other six crew members.
During the spawn of my life I lived 37 years and have been raised in Massachusetts. I was an adventurous child, I grew up

in a quiet, suburban neighborhood during the space age. The year I was born, my father was completing his sophomore year at Boston College. I was known by my middle name from an early age, although in later years I signed my name “S.Christa Corrigan” and eventually “S.Christa McAuliffe.” Sadly, the Challenger exploded 73 seconds into the air. After the explosion NASA got sued for $7.7 million. In conclusion: I was famous for many reasons. I touch the future,I teach.
