Over In The Meadow
Adapted from the original
poem by Olive A. Wadsworth
and illustrated by Deven Sharma
Sung by
Big Bird performed by Caroll Spinney
Over in the meadow, in the sand, in the sun,
Lived an old mother turtle and her little turtle one.
“Dig,” said the mother,
“I dig,” said the one.
So she dug and she hid in the sand, in the sun.
Over in the meadow, in a pond so blue,
Lived a green mother frog and her little froggies two.
“Jump,” said the mother,
“We jump,” said the two.
So they jumped and they leapt in the pond so blue.
Over in the meadow, near a wide oak tree,
Lived a red mother fox and her little foxes three.
“Sneak,” said the mother,
“We sneak,” said the three.
So they sneaked and they crept near the wide oak tree.
Over in the meadow, from the reeds on the shore,
Lived a plump mother duck and her little duckies four.
“Quack,” said the mother,
“We quack,” said the four.
So they quacked and they swam from the reeds on the shore.
Over in the meadow, where the green grass thrives,
Lived a white mother sheep and her little sheep five.
“Crunch,” said the mother,
“We crunch,” said the five.
So they crunched and they munched where the green grass thrives.
