The Flower and the Storm

Characters:

                              Scene 1

(Daisy stands tall and proud, her petals basking in the sun.)

Daisy: (Smiling) 

I am Daisy, queen of the garden, My heart as bright as the golden sun. I dance with the butterflies and kiss the bees, And my petals sing with the summer breeze.

(Wind enters, swirling around Daisy and ruffling her petals.)

Wind: (Laughing)

Ho, ho! Little Daisy, you're looking mighty proud! But I'm the Wind, and I'm here to play loud! I'll twirl you and whirl you, make you spin and shout Until your petals scatter all about!

(Daisy bends and sways in the Wind's grasp, but she doesn't break.)

Daisy: (Resolutely)

You may try to ruffle me, Wind, but I won't give in. My roots are strong, my spirit free, I'll dance with you, but you won't break me!

(Rain enters, showering the garden with soft, gentle drops.)

Rain: (Soothingly)

Hush now, Wind, let's not be unkind. Little Daisy needs both sun and rain to shine. I'll wash her petals with my silver tears, And quench her thirst to calm her fears.

(Daisy drinks in the Rain and lifts her face to the sky.)

Daisy: (Gratefully)

Oh, Rain, you're a gentle friend indeed, Your touch is soft, my spirit you feed. With Wind to dance and Rain to soothe, I'll bloom and grow, my heart abloom!

(The Wind and Rain dance gently around Daisy, who basks in their embrace.)
