Adela eats her breakfast in the kitchen she has known her whole life.
Today will be the last time she eats breakfast in this kitchen.
Today will be her last day of school.
Today will be the last day in this house.
"I wonder what my new school will look like?" Adela wonders.
She wonders if the school will be small, like the one she is used to.
She wonders if the school will be huge with a lot of children like her.
"I wonder if the teacher is nice like Señora Martinez," she thought to herself.
After the bell rang, Adela took down her hair and took the longer way home.
She wanted to remember the way the houses looked.
She wanted to remember the smell of the bakeries and restaurants that filled her nose.
She wanted to remember the sounds of laughter of the villagers passing by.
"I wonder if I will be able to remember my way home in my new town" she thought.
When Adela came home, she put on a comfortable dress. Mamá said it was going to be a long trip.
She told her that Papi was already waiting for them in their new town.
Adela was excited, but at the same time a little bit sad.
Her sister said that as long as they were all together, they would be okay.
