Little Orphan Oboe 

and her dog, Paprika, 

are all alone with no 

place to belong.

They often see people together but never feel 

accepted or are made fun of. 

"Being alone is hard, Paprika.", Little Orphan Oboe 

says, "I wish I had somewhere to belong."

"What is that thing, mommy?", Little Girl Blue 

asks. 

"I'm not sure but stay away. It's different than we 

are." her mom replies.

"See," Little Orphan Oboe says, "No one likes me. 

I'm different."

"Do you hear that, Paprika??" 

Little Orphan Oboe asks. 

"Excuse me, sir. Can you tell 

me what that noise is that I 

hear?"

"That's the orchestra 

rehearsing in the Fine Arts 

Building.", he responds. 

"Haven't I seen you there 

before?"

"Me? Oh, no sir. I have never 

been here before. What is an 

orchestra?"

"It is a musical group made up 

of instruments that look just 

like you!" he responds.

"Did you hear 

that, Paprika??", 

Little Orphan 

Oboe asks, 

"There are 

things that look 

just like me in 

there!!! Let's go 

check it out!!"

"Where did they go, Paprika?" 

Little Orphan Oboe asks.

"Paprika, do you 

see this?", Little 

Orphan Oboe 

asks. "There 

really are some 

that look just 

like me! Let's go 

talk to them!!"
