have parents to call mom and dad.

Long ago there was mom who had two beautiful daughters and 

husband.The mother longed to be a surrogate for a loving 

couple. Which means she wanted to carry a baby for a couple 

who couldn't have kids.

Her eldest Olivia who was five years old   didn't understand 

what it meant for her mom to be a surrogate.

To help Olivia understand, her mom said, " When I gave birth to you 

and your sister they were the best days of my life. It brought me so 

much joy and love that words can't explain. I am thankful everyday 

that I was able to have you and your sister. It makes makes me sad 

that some people can't have babies. 

"Why can't certain people have kids, mom?" asked Olivia. Her 

mother explained, "God gives woman this special body part so 

we can have babies, but sometimes those body parts don't 

work the right way so people might need to use someone 

else's body like mine to carry the baby in.

Olivia's eyes widened, "oh! Is the baby going to be my brother 

or sister?" No Olivia, it will be the couples. I am just carrying 

the baby in my tummy for them because they can't. 

Olivia smiled and said "Oh! Is it like when I try to bake stuff in 

my toy oven but I can't because it doesn't work so I have to 

use yours to bake stuff?" Smiling back, her mom said, "Yeah 

exactly like that, when you bake stuff in my oven it bakes and 

smells good and when we put the food in your toy oven 

nothing happens."
