BEING ONLINE
Access and inclusion
This domain concerns access to the digital environment and
includes a range of competences that relate not only to the
overcoming of different forms of digital exclusion but also to
the skills needed by future citizens to participate in digital
spaces that are open towards any kind of minority or diversity
of opinion.
Learning and Creativity
This domain concerns the willingness and the attitude towards
learning in digital environments over the life course, both to
develop and express different forms of creativity, with different
tools, in different contexts. It covers competences of personal
and professional development to prepare citizens to face the
challenges of technology-rich societies with confidence and
competence, and in innovative ways.
Media and Information Literacy
This domain concerns the ability to interpret, understand and
express creativity through digital media, with critical thinking.
Being media and information literate is something that needs
to be developed through education and through a constant
exchange with the environment around us: it is essential to go
beyond simply “being able to” use one or another media, for
example, or simply to “be informed” about something. A digital
citizen has to maintain an attitude relying on critical thinking
as a basis for meaningful and effective participation in his/her
community.
Once upon a time, there were four friends: Mobin, Şevval, Ariana, and Robert. They loved exploring. One day, Şevval heard about a special library in the forest. The library had magical books! Excited, the friends decided to find it. With Robert's map, they went into the forest. After overcoming some challenges, they found the library. Inside, a guardian welcomed them. The guardian gave them a challenge: to learn about the digital world. And so, their adventure began!
The guard said he would ask 5 questions first. First, he asks how long do they spend on the internet. Mobile says he spends 1 hour a day.
Şevval said she spent 2 hours, Aria answered half an hour, and Robert said 1.5 hours. The guard told Şevval that he spent a lot of time and told him to read a book.

The guardian was happy with Mobin's answer. Then, he asked Ariana how she used the internet. Ariana said she used it for school and talking to friends. The guardian smiled, saying she used it wisely. He turned to Robert, asking why he spent 1.5 hours online. Robert said he played games. The guardian advised him to balance it. Lastly, he asked Şevval how she felt after 2 hours online. Şevval said tired. The guardian said it's important to take breaks. Then, he told them to explore the library and learn more about the digital world.

After asking some questions, the guardian let the children enter the library.
They went to the Fiction section, they were fascinated, all the books were magical.
Mobin, with a lot of curiosity, picked up a golden book and suddenly, a secret door opened in front of them.
They wanted to go through the door, but they were also very frightened.
Finally, they decided to enter, and they realised that the door was closed...
It was a dark and a spooky hall, suddenly, they saw a bright and green figure, they walked a little more to see what that was.
The previous page and this one have been made by IES Escultor Juan de Villanueva, La Pola Siero, Spain.
Our friends found a secret door in a library filled with magical books. They were scared but curious, so they decided to go through.
Inside, they found a dark hallway with a strange glowing figure. It was actually a friendly sprite named AIA, who said she would help them explore safely.
AIA told them they were in a special part of the library with different worlds. She warned them about dangers but promised to guide them.
Together, they went through the hallway, facing puzzles and meeting magical creatures. AIA taught them about staying safe and working together. Finally, they reached a big room with a special book called the Book of Dreams. When they opened it, they were whisked away on an amazing adventure through colorful stories.
Throughout their journey, Lumina reminded them about internet safety, like being careful with strangers online and not sharing personal information.
As they traveled through the Book of Dreams, they learned the importance of friendship and staying safe both in the real world and online. And with Lumina's help, they knew they could handle anything that came their way.

Our friends at Dr. Alberto Iria's School do know the dangers of internet, don't you think?
They found themselves in a kingdom plagued by a digital villain who spread misinformation. With Lumina's guidance, they learned how to verify information online and discern fact from fiction. Together, they helped the people of the kingdom by spreading accurate information and teaching them to be critical thinkers.
In this kingdom plagued by the digital villain, misinformation ran rampant, causing chaos and confusion among the inhabitants. People were misled by false rumors and manipulated images, leading to distrust and division within the community.
Upon their arrival, Mobin, Şevval, Ariana, and Robert
were shocked to see the extent of the problem.

They witnessed firsthand how the digital villain exploited social media platforms to sow seeds of discord and spread lies. Determined to make a
difference, they sought Lumina's guidance on how to combat misinformation effectively.
Lumina, the wise and knowledgeable sprite, taught them the importance of critical thinking and fact-checking in the digital age. She showed them how to verify information by cross-referencing multiple sources, checking for credibility, and analyzing the context in which the information was presented.
They organized workshops and seminars, teaching them practical strategies for identifying misinformation and distinguishing reliable sources from unreliable ones. They encouraged open dialogue and critical inquiry, empowering the citizens to think critically and question the information they encountered online.
Together, they launched a campaign to spread accurate information, using social media platforms to counteract the digital villain's lies with facts and evidence.
by Masal Deniz at Atatürk Secondary School,Manisa in Türkiye-Seçil Köklü Gülseven
Their campaign became stronger as more people joined them. They shared information on social media and this helped to weaken the digital villain's influence. However, the villain fought back by using cyber attacks and spreading fake news. Despite this, they didn't give up. With Lumina's help, they learned how to protect themselves online and continued their fight. They learned about privacy, passwords, and how to spot fake messages. This knowledge helped them stay safe and keep their campaign going.
As they became more successful, they finally faced the digital villain. They showed everyone the truth, and with the help of their friends, they defeated the villain. This brought peace to the digital world.
Their journey started with a simple desire for knowledge, but it became so much more.
written by students of Aynur KORKMAZ - Şalpazarı Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi
As they continued to navigate the digital kingdom together, Sarah, Jack, and Maya learned about the different ways to stay safe online. They made sure to keep their passwords secure, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and report any inappropriate behavior or content they came across. By working together and supporting each other, the three kids were able to enjoy their online activities while prioritizing their safety. They understood that being responsible and vigilant online was essential in protecting themselves and maintaining a secure digital presence. In the end, Mobin, Şevval, Ariana, and Robert became role models for their peers, spreading awareness about online safety and encouraging everyone to be proactive in safeguarding their digital well-being. Their collaborative efforts served as a reminder that staying safe online is a collective responsibility that requires constant vigilance and communication.

After learning this valuable lesson, they met Ana, Vanja and Ljubisa, they didn't know much about technology or the risks of social media, in their favor the starters of the campaign were very experienced and helped them learn more. They joined and together they made multiple discoveries and project who effected the digital world in so many positive ways.

WELLBEING ONLINE
Ethics and Empathy
This domain concerns online ethical behaviour and interaction
with others based on skills such as the ability to recognise
and understand the feelings and perspectives of others.
Empathy constitutes an essential requirement for positive
online interaction and for realising the possibilities that the
digital world affords.
Health and Wellbeing
Digital citizens inhabit both virtual and real spaces. For this
reason, the basic skills of digital competence are not sufficient.
Individuals also require a set of attitudes, skills, values and
knowledge that render them more aware of issues of health
and wellbeing. Health and wellbeing in a digitally rich world,
implies being aware of the issues and the opportunities that can
affect wellness including but not limited to online addiction,
ergonomics and posture, and excessive-use of digital and mobile
devices.
ePresence and Communications
This domain refers to the development of the personal and
interpersonal qualities that support digital citizens in building
and maintaining an online presence and identity as well as
online interactions that are positive, coherent and consistent.
It covers competences such as online communication and
interaction with others in virtual social spaces and also the
management of one’s data and traces.

They named their blog "Snapshots" and agreed on some ground rules for their online presence and identity. They agreed to respect each other's opinions and styles, and to give constructive feedback and encouragement. They also promised to be honest and ethical in their posts. They started to post regularly . However, they soon realized that not everyone online was as kind and respectful as they were. They encountered some rude people
They wanted to help their friends and other people who faced similar problems online. They decided to use their blog as a platform to raise awareness and educate others about online ethics and empathy. They wrote a series of posts about how to be kind and respectful without hurting people online. They also shared their own experiences and stories, and offered advice and support.
They also invited their readers
to join them in creating a
positive and safe online

Emily got mean messages online, making her sad. She told her friend Sarah and they decided to tell a counselor. The counselor listened and said he would help. Emily felt better knowing she wasn't alone. They made a plan together. Emily and Sarah told others about cyberbullying to make their school safer. Emily learned it's okay to ask for help and that friends are there for her. With Sarah's support, Emily felt stronger and braver. They stood up to cyberbullying together, making a positive change in their school.

About two years before Camilla had been together with Tommy for 1 year and 3 months. Theirs was a toxic relationship, in fact, he often asked her, insistently, for photos of her in underwear, which she sent him. There had been difficult moments between the two of them, and betrayals. So one day, Camilla, tired of his attitudes, decided to leave Tommy.
He was against this decision and was quite angry so he decided to send the photos to his friends on WhatsApp.
His friends in turn sent them to others. Then thanks to the rumors the photos reached her too, when she saw the photos she was upset because she didn't think he would share them. At first she didn't know what to do but she knew for sure that she could report him. She informed the police, and Tommy was forbidden to get in touch with Camilla again. Unfortunately the photos remained on the Internet even though Tommy had deleted them. Camilla joined Emily and Sarah to start a campaign to tell other girls never to share compromising photos with boyfriends or friends.

What they did first was organizing a meeting to talk about cyberbullying and the problems that it can cause on the people that suffer from it.
The objetive was to make people understand the victims' situation and to make people know that we must help each other and not bully anyone.
Then, they posted a video for a campaign to stop bullying. The video went viral. Photographs made by them were included in the video to show their talent.
