This book is dedicated to my favorite kid's story, Hansel and Gretel.
-V.W.

Hello there! It's me, the "evil" witch in Hansel and Gretel, and I want to tell you my side of the story. You see, the version you heard of is just one of those silly stories people like to make up that are totally wrong! Anyways, if you're still listening, here's my side of the story!
One day, I had just finished repairing the gingerbread on my roof that the birds had eaten when I heard footsteps. I saw a girl and a boy, and I decided to hide to see what they were gonna do. Well, what do you know? They started eating my house after I just finished repairing! Of course I was mad, and I wasn't gonna just stand there on my ladder and do nothing, so I went over there and started yelling at them. They were startled when they saw me, and the
boy dropped the gumdrop he had been eating and pointed at me and yelled, "I-I-It's a witch! She's gonna eat us!" Eat them? Excuse me? I had an infinite supply of candy, so why in the world would I eat them? "I'm not gonna eat you! Come inside! It's cold out here!" I said, waving them inside. They reluctantly followed me. After we had a nice snack over some licorice and M&M's, they started to calm down. "See? I'm not gonna eat you!" I laughed, settling down.
"Hi! Sorry about earlier, I'm Hansel and this is my sister Gretel!" he exclaimed. I looked at the girl, who was shoving down brownies by the bucket. "Anyways, if you don't eat children, then why do you have so many stick people wearing kid's clothes at the front of your house?" Oohh!! That! "I'll tell you later," I shrugged. After they finished stuffing their little bellies, Gretel told me why she was here with her brother. I felt bad for them, so I decided to let them stay here for a while. 2
