This is a story about how a typical girl like you found herself in trouble and managed to get out of it. She saved an entire generation of people along with her sisters. Her name was Emily Gold. She had hazel eyes and messy brown hair. She was generally healthy and loved to play. When Emily was five, she moved to a new home with her mom, dad, older sister Rose, pet rabbit JJ, and the arrival of a new baby sibling on the way. Despite being surrounded by family, Emily felt spiritually lost. However, she found solace in a large tree that inspired her to
ask her dad to build a treehouse, which he eventually did. Fast forward seven years, Emily is now twelve and has a younger sister. Her parents call that girl Autumn. That's how our story starts.
Chapter One
In The Beginning
One hot summer day, Emily, in a tee shirt and jeans, is walking to her tree to play. When she hears someone crying, it is her sister Autumn. Emily stops to find out why her sister is crying.
"Mommy won’t let me play with you." Autumn sobs. Emily finds her mom doing the laundry and asks her why she will not let Autumn play. Her mom replies, "She might get hurt." Emily says, "Mom, I won't let that happen." "Oh, OK." Mom says, with a sigh. Autumn, who is really excited to go, runs all the way there. When they get to the tree, they climb up to the tree house. They play until they hear the picking bell to pick the food off the tree. They picked apples, pears, plums, peaches, and more. Then they put them into baskets. Then they put the baskets in a large container that leads to the ground. They pushed it home, and there their mom put the baskets in the cellar for them to sort
into different sections. Emily and Autumn then go inside.
Chapter Two!
A Normal Day
Autumn and Emily run to the house after they have put the food in the cellar. For dinner, they have spaghetti, a smoothie, and some bread. After eating dinner, it's time for their routine and getting ready for bed. Mom reads them a bedtime story, and they fall asleep. The next day is Saturday. It is shopping day, milking day, and selling day. They start by going shopping for
some new baskets and containers for the food. After that, they milk the coconut and almonds and make smoothies from the milk, fruit, and vegetables to sell at the market. Finally, they return home and pick more food.
Chapter Three!
Teach Time
It's Sunday! Emily's family packs up to go to church the next day. When they return home from church, they change into outdoor clothes. They then take their mom to the tree to teach her how to harvest the food. Their mom is improving. They practice every
day, and then they teach Emily's older sister, Rose, who is very skilled. They go to bed once the day is over.
Chapter four!
A Nightmare Come True
On a sunny spring afternoon, Emily discovers a rotten apple while strolling out to her beloved tree. It puzzles her, as her tree has never produced spoiled fruit before. Hurrying back home, she informs her family, who are stunned by the news. Seeking answers, she asks her dad to inspect the tree, only to learn that
it is in a state of decline. The realization dawns on Emily that her cherished tree may be dying, jeopardizing her joyous life. The thought of losing the tree and disrupting the lives of her family fills her with dread. Nevertheless, she decides to take action and seeks to uncover the cause of the tree's illness. Contemplating her next steps, her mother assures her that she won't be facing this challenge alone. Emily proposes involving her sisters, Rose and Autumn, in the quest for a solution, which her mother supports.
Chapter four and one Fourth!
Riddles
Emily gathers her sisters and starts walking toward the tree. When they arrive, they give the tree a smoothie, and once it is finished, they ask how they can help. The tree responds, "You must find an animal that cannot eat my seed. Ask him. Let him be free. He will show you the way."
"Riddles?" exclaims Emily. "Let me write it down," says Rose. "So, what animal do we know cannot eat seeds?" Autumn asks. "Rabbits can't eat seeds," suggests Rose. "Come on!" urges Rose, Emily, and Autumn. They run all the way home and find
their mom waiting. "Did you figure it out?" Mom asks. "Not yet, but we need to visit JJ," Autumn explains. "JJ?" inquires Mom. “ye JJ," Rose clarifies. "And we need to hurry," adds Emily. "Goodbye, Mom. Let's go, guys," says Autumn.
Chapter four and one half!
JJ
They ran in, they sprinted down, they sprinted up (they forgot the food), they sprinted down again, and they halted all in front of JJ. When JJ had his share, he said, "You need to not think the
next time you go out or you will be killed!" "Ok, um, wow, um, what do we do?" says Emily. "Thanks, JJ. So, um, are you going to lead us to where we need to go, or not?" says Rose. "No," says JJ, "Let me try." Autumn speaks up, "JJ, we need to help save Emily's magic tree." "Why do you need me? You never make me a smoothie," says JJ.
Chapter four and Three Fourths!
The Forest Monster
"We need you because we don't know the way," said Rose and JJ. "Will you each give us two smoothies every day?" asked Autumn. "Oh, okay," replied JJ. "Where is my smoothie?"
"Not so fast," remarked Emily. "We will only provide the smoothies if you show us the way."
"FINE," yelled JJ. So, JJ led them to the cure. The end, right? They got the cure, and the tree lived happily ever after.
No, when they arrived at the forest, it was already night, so they decided to sleep. JJ woke them up at first light, and they continued on their journey. As they reached the darkest part of the forest, they stopped. There was a snap and rustling sound.
"Who's there?" called out a Rose's voice.
"The Forest Monster," replied the voice, so loud that it seemed to echo in the darkness
Chapter four and Seven Eighths.
The End, Not
Rose pulled out a flashlight and shone it into the dark spots. She found no one. "What do you look like?" asked Autumn. "Oops. What do I look like?" "I look like a tree," squeaked the voice. "Come out, monster, and hurt us if that's what you're going to do," said Emily. "I'm not going to hurt you. I am trying to protect
the trees of life. So, um, move along and go back to where you came from," squeaked the voice. "You're not a monster, you're two kids," said Autumn. "Why do you say that?" squeaked the voice. "Because we can see you and your megaphone." "Ahh," said two little boys. "Sorry." "What do you think you are doing?" "Where are you from?" asked Autumn, Rose, and Emily together. "Okay, we are going to write a list of questions to ask you and you are going to answer them." "No questions asked, understand?" said Rose to the boys. The list of questions went like this: "How old are you? Eight and nine. Where do you live? In a hut by the river. Is there really a forest monster? Yes." “Is there
really a forest monster?” “Yes.” “Is there really a forest monster?” “Yes.” “Is there really a Forest Mons” "GRAWR-R-R", “Yes, RUN!” "GRAWR-R-R," " told ya," said one boy "GRAWR-R-R" "come o" "CHOMP"
Chapter four and Nine Tenths
Truth
"Come on, guys," Rose said. "Let's head for that cave or tunnel, or whatever it is." When they got through the tunnel, they came to a patch of plants. Not only were they in a patch of plants, but they were also in a patch of more magic plants. The plants included all sorts of things: bushes, trees, vines, gardens, grass, and flowers. To reach the magic trees, they stepped on the stepping stones provided.
"Oh, magical trees, could you please help my tree? He's sick and dying, and I'm worried. Can you please help?" Emily started crying, so Autumn jumped in. "I dislike seeing my sister so sad,
so can you please help and tell us what is wrong?" The trees replied, "Imagine you are in a dark room. How do you get out?"
"Riddles again?" Emily said. One of the boys responded, "Stop imagining it." Emily woke up in a cold sweat and sprinted out to her tree. "No rotten fruit, no talking rabbit, no dream come true. That's just how Emily wants it, even if it is the middle of the night."
Chapter Five!
Magic
Emily wakes up drenched in sweat. "More dreams?" Mom asks.
"Yeah," Emily admits as Autumn enters the room in her pink and blue pajamas. "Is Emily okay?" asks Autumn, yawning. "She might have a fever," Mom states. Rose runs in and exclaims, "Emily, you have to come outside. The tree is singing." "What?" says Emily. They go outside to hear the tree murmuring on and on. This is what it sang: "Oh, back home, my kind roamed the land. We played all day in the sun, then came the bright light, magic. We had magic in our veins, and we looked just like humans. Then the darkness came, and we could no longer move. We had turned into plants. I would sing all day, but that all changed as the earth split. We had only two of us on a piece
of land. Every day I feel them slipping away, as the land shifts each and every day."
The girls go back inside. "Wow, so it was human?" "Yeah, I guess. Do you think it’s a boy or a girl?" Emily asks Rose, and Autumn.
Chapter Six!
Hospital
"Well, based on the singing, I would say it was a girl," Emily remarked. "We could ask about it tomorrow," Autumn suggested. "True," Rose agreed. "But for now, we need to
sleep." "Yeah... Okay," Emily replied with a yawn. The next day, the three of them went out to ask the tree some questions. When they arrived, they saw a man and two little boys in the tree house playing.
Emily yelled, "What do you think you're doing in my tree house?" The man climbed down and explained, "This used to be my property, but I had to move out. I sold it to your family. I just stopped by to take a look, and I brought my boys with me because they were too young to remember it. Oh, where are my manners? My name is Tim, and these are two of my boys. Boys, come down here and meet these girls."
The boys introduced themselves, "My name is Noah, and one thing about myself is I am not around much. "Hurry up, Joe." "My name is Joe, and one thing about myself is that I'm into rock hunting." "Dad, can we go play now?" Oh, okay. Now my two boys at home are Sam and Josh. Sam works with machines, and Josh stays home with me." "Is that your whole family?" Emily inquires. "No, I also have two women at home - my wife, Brenda, and my eldest daughter, Ana. You girls might like her. Anyway, any more questions?" "Yes, where do you live?" "A hut by the river." "And how old are Noah and Joe?" "Noah is 8 and Joe is 9." Emily fainted. The last thing she heard was Rose asking what she thought about Tim. Emily wakes up in a white room with blinding lights. When the room comes into focus, she realizes she is in a hospital. "Wow, I must have been asleep for a long time," Emily says. Her voice is so quiet that she can barely hear herself. Emily tries to get up, but she fails. The doctor comes in, sees that Emily is awake, and then goes back out.A few minutes later, he entered with two nurses and another doctor. "What happened?" Emily asked weakly. "What did she say?" asked the second doctor. "How are we supposed to know?" replied one of the nurses. "I think she asked what happened," said the other nurse.
Chapter Seven!
What Happened
Emily is confused because the last thing she remembered was being next to her tree, not in the hospital. "What happened?" she asks again, this time more clearly. The second nurse introduces herself as Sammy “You must be Emily,” “Of course she’s Emily you stupid” but Sammy just continues, explaining that a man named Tim brought Emily in after she fainted and hit her head. Tim claimed to be acquainted with Emily's family, but not a guardian. He stated that he used to live in the same place
as Emily's family and had sold it to them. Tim also mentioned he was planning to take the girls home and inform Emily's family about the situation. He went out with two girls and two little boys. "SAMMY Can I go home soon? " Emily yelled. "Be quiet over there," the first doctor reprimanded. "Opps," Emily says. "Thank you," says the second doctor "Her voice just came back." "Good," said Sammy, and the first doctor. "Ok, now that your voice is back to normal, my name is Tom and my partner is Louise," said the first doctor. "Hi," said Louise, with a squirt out of a shot. "How long have I been asleep?" asks Emily. "About two days," says Tom. " What’s that for?" Emily asks with a nod, " This
is for any of your head pain," said Louise " We think you hit your head on a rock," explained Samantha. "I have to get out of here and go to my tree." "Woh there, calm down." " Can I see when I can go?" "No." "Why not?" "Because." "Because why?" She’s asking too many questions. They had just huddled up. Tom said, "OK Emily, we need you to relax so that we can do our job." "Ok, fine, wait before you give me …
Chapter Eight!
Kidnapped
Emily wakes up to a pitch black room. She could tell that the
four people were not really doctors and nurses. "SAMMY!" Emily yells. Click. A light goes on. Emily sees she is in an abandoned house. Sammy shows herself "I, we are sorry about what happened. You were asking too many questions, and we need you to be calm so that we can give you the treatment you need because of your head. " "Where am I?" "You are in a house that is just a little ways off of the highway." "Does the hospital know where we are?" "Yes." Emily goes back to sleep. Will this be a dream too?
Chapter Nine!
Escape
Emily wakes up to the darkness. "No, not a dream." Emily gets out of bed and walks over to the window. Then she goes to the door. First she tries the handle, locked. Next, she looks under the door and, to her surprise, she sees a key. "It must go to the door," Emily thinks to herself. She spots a small hole in the door and puts her hand in it. It fits! She can reach the key. She pulls the key in and hears footsteps on steps. She dashes into the bed. The next moment, Samantha comes in, says, " Here is your food" and leaves. Emily jumps out and gets her food. She tries
the door, which is locked, but she still has the key. She puts it in the lock and turns the handle. It opened! She goes down a hall and turns left, opposite of the stairs. She goes down another hall and tries some doors. One opens and she finds a flash-light. She turns it on. It works! She shines it in the closet and finds a map of the house. It is a mansion. She follows the map ,left right left right left left, to some stairs. Emily is hungry, so she stops to eat her food and finds it somewhat tasty. She continues on her way and comes to a door that goes outside. It is blocked, but there is a small dog door. She shimmies through it and finds herself face to face with blackness. The flashlight runs out of
juice.
Chapter Ten!
Saved
Emily started walking to where she heard singing. This is the song she heard:
"Oh, back home, my kind roamed the land. We played all day in the sun, then came the bright light, magic… "
The same song she heard her tree sing. She followed it on unknown trails and unknown places all the way to a tree and fell
asleep. In the morning, when she arose, she was not by a tree and not outside. She was in a house on a couch, and two little girls were playing nearby. She turned over to watch them play and fell off of the couch. "Yikes!" yelled the girls and fell over laughing while Emily lay there looking shocked. "Dad, our guest has come to play with us apparently," say the girls in between laughs. An older looking man and a nice looking woman run in. "Are you OK?" asks the woman. "Yes" croakes Emily. "Get me some hot tea"... "NOW!" says the woman sternly. The man stood up and ran out, coming back a little later with a cup of steaming tea. After Emily finishes the tea, the questions start coming in.
What is your name? How old are you? Where do you live? "Dad, please stop reading the newspaper and help." "My name is Emily. I am 13 and live in a house with a tree. I have a question: are you the girl in the newspaper? " The man asks, "Mommy, what is daddy talking about?" The girls ask. The woman replies to them, "Yes, I'm afraid your dad may be right."
Chapter Eleven
Simple Choices
Now let's back up. While Emily was escaping, the hospital, the
police, and other people were looking for her. They had put a "missing girl" in the news. Could this be what the family was thinking? The news had said there would be a reward of $200,000. Will the family make the right choice by taking her home, or the wrong choice by keeping her hidden till the reward reaches high in the sky? Well, it is simply the wrong way to get more money. But what if someone found out? Well, then it is simply the right way to gain trust and not be overly greedy. But what if someone found out and took her from you? It is simply not simple.
Chapter Eleven and one-half
Answers
"Well, there is a girl in the paper that has been missing for a week and she was last spotted being moved into an ambulance by four people," explained the man. "By the way, my name is Mia, and that is my husband, Adam," said Mia. "Well, we want to play with her," say the girls, "Oh ok, we will be in the kitchen, so call if you need anything," says Mia "Mom, can we play outside?" asked the girls. "OK," Mia agrees
Chapter Twelve
Treehouse
" Come on, Emily, let's go play." "Oh, and my name is Sky, and
that's my cousin Ana," says Sky. The girls take Emily to a food tree. "Wow, this looks like the tree at my house." "You have a tree too?" Sky inquires. "Wow, no wonder we found you at our tree. You probably thought it was yours. " Ana responds. "Do you know how to harvest your tree?" Emily asks. "Harvest," the girls in union inquired. "Yea, you know, take and make the food. But first we need to get some supplies." Ana, does your family have baskets? "Yes", can you get them? "Yes," Sky, does your family have saws, hammers, a ladder, and nails? "Yes," can you get them? "Yes," "Okay, go," as the girl's run of Emily stays by the tree and hums this song: "Oh back home, my kind romed
land. We played all day in the sun, then came the bright light, magic. We had magic in our veins, and we looked just like humans. Then the darkness came. " Then, as the song comes to an end, the girls return with the supplies. "Here you go," says Sky, "Thanks." "Oh, and Ana, can you get some rope?" "Sure," Ana says, leaning the ladder against the tree. "What can I do?" asks Sky. "Can you help me saw dead limbs?" "OK," so Ana goes and gets the rope, and Emily and Sky saw dead limbs. An hour later, they have the base of a tree house done and are going in to eat lunch. "Well, how are you enjoying your time here?" Mia asks Emily, "I like it here." Emily responds, "We're making a
treehouse in the food tree," says Ana
Chapter Thirteen
Hunters
"Oh well, hurry up and finish eating so you can get back to work," said Adam, as the friends finished lunch and went back outside. "She has to be around here somewhere." "How do you know"; "the tranquilizers would not let her go much farther"; "girls, we need to go back inside" Emily says the girls head back to the house to find two guys at the door. They hide behind a
tree. One guy speaks up, "Have you seen a girl with brown hair? She calls herself Emily. "Like the girl in the paper, she is a runaway captive and is wanted for murder!
Chapter Fourteen
Tricked
"We have seen no such girl," says Mia. "Really? Well, your neighbors say otherwise. They say that you have been hospitalizing a girl like we described. " Another guy said, "Perhaps you would like your children." "Ah, yes, we have your children and are holding them captive till you tell us where";
then, stopping in mid sentence, he sees Emily "Get Her" Emily, thinking fast, grabs a rope, ties Sky and Ana together, throws the rope over a limb and grabs it again "Now I need you to scream and pretend I’m going to kill you if you guys don't back down," Emily says, whispering first then raising her voice “Help us, mommy, help"; "Leave this house and never return if you want the girls to live." Emily exclaims, "Come on, boss, let's go!" One of the guys says, "Yea, before it's too late," another says. “Naw, we’ll stay and see what happens." says the leader.

Hero
Soon after, Tim comes into the picture. Yes, Tim from before Emily got kidnapped. Now, as Tim comes into play, he is unaware of the danger Emily is in. Continue On.
After an hour of waiting, Emily sees hope. Tim. He comes up to the house and sees the group. He sneaks over to the group and Emily says, " This is your last chance to surrender and head home," and when the guys laugh at her, she starts shaking the
