Hello, I'm Matilda. I'm flying to schools where there is an international friendship in the Well-being At School Project.

Let's ask every school what does well-being mean to them?

Nilüfer Teacher's Team

"Here I am now in Turkey. This is Ilkadim Ataturk Middle School. The project team led by Teacher Nilufer is welcoming us with joy. A happy school embraces us with kindness boards and colorful corridors."(Kıvanç  and Yağız)

Matilda asks "Hello Atatürk Project Team! What do you think is well-being?"

Atatürk Team answers "We develop our potential, learn, and play creatively. In this project, we felt valued and respected. We actively participate in various projects, bringing the school to life through engagement with real-world experiences." (Erva, Minasu)

Nigar teacher`s team💞

This is Barda full secondary school №4. Our school is named after the National Hero Elgiz Karimov. Welcome to our school (Mesume)

"Wow, your school looks  beautiful" says Matilda. Then asked: What do you think is well-being?" (Aysu)

When we feel socially connected, we also tend to just feel better, have more positive emotions, and are able to cope better with challenges. (Hajar)

             The large yard and garden of our school allows us to carry out our activities in the open air. It also improves our mental and physical health.(Melek)

Sacide Teacher's Team

After hearing about the fame of Adiyaman, Matilda asks Sacide teacher to help her as a guide.

Sacide Teacher introduced Matilda to her ambitious students and showed them their work for "well being at school". Matilda realised that school is not only a place to "teach" but also a place to live and that the first and most important guiding principle is "to raise good people first". The hospitality and friendliness of the students made Matilda very happy. Afterwards, they kneaded çiğköfte together and ate it with pleasure.

Seyhan Teacher's Team 

Matilda, the friendly bird, flew to Hacıveliler Yeşilgöz Primary School in Kahramanmaraş, to tell all the little ones about the fun things happening there. Seyhan teacher and her precious team welcomed Matilda, they couldn't wait to show what they'd done so far.

'Hey, kiddos! Here, everyone gets to join in the fun activities. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, we're all in this together! We play games, do projects, and talk about cool stuff. It's like a big family where everyone's welcome. These activities  bring our friends together to think, talk, and create and help us learn about each other and be nice to one another. So, let's spread our wings and have a blast together! Also, we get to learn new things and become smarter and kinder'

We danced Zumba all students together.

After flying for a long time, Matilda stoped at III. primary school Varaždin. Teacher Anja and her students were really happy to see Matilda. „Hello Matilda! Come and play with us!“ said teacher Anja. Matilda joined teacher Anja's team and they went on a Scavenger hunt. They all had a great time!

Leda said: „Matilda, let me show you some photos of our work in this project.“ „We learned a lot! And it was really interesting!“ said Mia and Lara. Tin explained to Matilda that although we are all different, we accept everyone as they are. We love learning Croatian sign language with our friend who is deaf. Matilda was thrilled! She started singing and dancing happily.

Matilda asked her new friends what well being means to them. Mia and Lara said that when they feel bad, they like to look for company to play with or go for a walk. Dino likes to play with a ball and draw. Tia also likes to draw. Ciara and Erik like to swim in the pool with their friends. Hana and Izabela said that the school is our second home where we all get along just like a real family and help each other.

Matilda asked her new friends what well being means to them. 

After Anja teacher's team, Matilda decided to fly to the east. While flying, she saw many beautiful things. Seas, rivers, forests. Then she saw an ancient ruin and decided to stop by it to see what it is.  She met with a little bird there and she asked;

"Hey, I am Matilda. What is this place?"

"This is Gobeklitepe." Said the bird. "The oldest known temple in the history."

Matilda was fascinated.

"So, where am I then" she asked

"You are in Şanlıurfa, Turkiye.

"Oh great." she said. "I am almost there" 

"There?" The bird asked.

 Matilda told to the bird about what she saw during her journey from Samsun to Crotia. 

"Now I will go to Dumlupınar Primary School. Do you know where is it?" She asked

" Yes yes" Shouted the bird. "You should fly a little more. It is in the east."

Matilda flew a little bit more and finally came to the Dumlupınar Primary School. That school was very big and there were many students. 

"Wow! What a big school" Matilda said. Then she heard the voice of students. They were very happy to see Mathilda.

" Finally, you are here." Huseyin said. "We are waiting for you." 

"Oh hi children."Matilda chirped with a joy. "I am also very happy. Let's meet with each other. What is your name? 

All of them introduced themselves to Matilda.

Then  Berfin looked at the Matilda and said;

"Hey Matilda do you wanna see our projects, too?"

"Of course" Matilda said. " What did you do for the project?"

"Oh many things" Hilal replied. "For example we learned the e safety and how to be safe online."

"We drew a big tree on our school wall. It is great." Berfin added.

" We also made a kindness quilt. We drew pictures and we wrote sentences about kindness and well-being under it."Efnan said.

"Oh! That's awesome" Matilda answered. "Then tell me what is well being?"

"Well being is having a happy life." Huseyin said.

"Well-being is being healthy." Muhiddin answered 

"Also, well being is being nice." Nisa said. 

"Yes, you are right children. So what else did you do?"

"We made a well being calender activity. It was awesome. We made good things for us." İklimya said.

"Like what?" 

"Like starting a new book, drinking water, giving someone high five." Tuana answered.
