In the land of Esteros, where the harsh winds of the Endless Winter blow, five houses vie for control of the Iron Crown. To the north lies the frozen realm of House Wintervale, whose icy resolve is as unyielding as the snow-covered landscapes they call home. House Lorean, masters of secrets and whispers, holds the eastern coast, their eyes set on every throne. The western hills are the domain of House Granth, known for their unrivaled craftsmen and formidable fortresses. In the center, the ancient House Eldergrove stands, the keepers of traditions and the stewards of the sacred forest.

Amidst the struggle for power, a commoner named Orrin emerges, whose mysterious lineage grants him a claim to the Iron Crown. With only a tattered cloak and a sword handed down by his father, Orrin travels across Esteros, uncovering the alliances and betrayals that weave through the fabric of the realm. Each House, sensing the shift in the wind, schemes to either win Orrin's allegiance or ensure his silence.

As Orrin navigates the perilous politics, the threat beyond the northern borders grows. Legends speak of the Frozen Host, a horde of spectral warriors awakened by the prolonged winter. Ignored by the squabbling lords, these legends become an all-too-real threat as the Frozen Host descends upon the realm, their chill breath smothering the life out of the divided lands.
