This book is about religion. Religion is like a set of rules to live by, like being kind to others, listening to your elders, and not stealing. The rules change based on the religion but mostly stay the same.
There are many different religions in this world and it is important to be kind to everyone even if they don't have the same religion as you. The religions discussed in this book will be Christianity, Hinduism, and Islam.

"Hi my name Ira and I'm 6 years old. I go to first grade with my friends Dina and Eva. I am Hindu and I'm still learning all about who I am."

"Here are my friends and my school. There's
me then Dina, then Eva and then my cousin
Ebba."

"This used to be my house but since my parents died it is being sold and I have been living with the neighbors. I am very sad and lonely and I wish my parents had never gotten into a car crash."

"The people in my village decided that I will switch over three houses, kind of like a sleep over until they find a better solution. This is my uncle Tam and his daughter Ebba. Uncle Tam is really nice and Hindu just like my family so I feel better when I am with him. Ebba is being really nice and letting me use all her toys. Uncle Tam told me he has a solution to help clear my mind. He suggested I try Karma Yoga because he says you get what you give."
Hinduism
In the Hinduism religion there are many Gods and Goddesses. More than nine out of ten Hindus live in India and the religion of Hinduism started in India. Hindus do not believe there is a founder or a prophet in their religion. Legend has it that Hinduism was one of the first religions ("Hinduism").

"This neighbor is named John and he is the father of my friend Eva from school. We get along well and he is always taking me on adventures. His family is Christian, and he has noticed that I seem to not know my purpose in life and says I should pray the rosary every night before bed to ask for forgiveness from my sins, and that God will guide me in the right direction."
Christianity
In the religion Christianity there is one God and he has a son named Jesus Christ. Christians believe in the holy trinity which is God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The holy symbol of Christianity is the cross. Christians go to Church on Sundays and receive the body of Christ at each Mass. Christians read the Bible and the Bible is the most read book in the world (Denova).

"This is the last family that I am living with and they are Muslim. I am living with my friend Dina and I love learning about Allah and all of his teachings. Her Dad too has noticed my sadness and has told me to try praying Salah to see if there is a difference in the way I feel."
Islam
The Islam religion focuses on the God Allah. People who follow this religion are called Muslims and they read the Quran. The religion of Islam was founded by a man named Muhammad ("Religion"). Muslims believe that nothing can happen without Allah's permission and that as long as they follow Allah they will be safe from evil spirits. Muslims women usually cover there head with a cloth called a hijab.

"Here I am in my uncle's Tam's house practicing the Hindu yoga technique called Karma yoga. Everyday after I finish tidying up a room in the house I take a moment to quiet my mind and thoughts and focus on breathing in and out. I do this for ten minutes everyday and when I am done I make sure to thank Yishnu, the Hindu God of peace and order on Earth and ask to be given peace of mind."

"Whenever I am over at Eva's house I am included in a Christian tradition to pray the rosary before bed. I do this every night before falling asleep and when I do I recite the Prayer of Mary. While I am not Christian and feel a little unsure of this I decided I will give it a try to see if it works in helping me find my place in the world."
