There are many different kinds of biomes all around the world. Some biomes are forests, grasslands, tundra, aquatic, and deserts.
We're going to go on an adventure and explore some different biomes and things that live in each one!

Temperate Forest
In the temperate forest there are four distinct seasons. In the fall season trees lose their leaves and then become bare in the winter. Some animals even hibernate in the winter. You can find many different animals like deer, hawks, owls, snakes, and bears.

Tundra

The tundra is the coldest of all of the biomes we will explore. It doesn't get much precipitation. Permafrost is all year round which makes it hard for trees and other plants to grow. There are different animals that survive in the cold like penguins, polar bears, arctic foxes, and arctic hares.

Tropical Rainforest
Tropical rainforests are found closer to the equator because they are warmer. The forest has so many plants and trees that grow in it. The rainforest gets so much precipitation there's almost never a dry season. There are so many animals that live here, like jaguars, sloths, lemur, and frogs just to name a few.

Desert
The desert is the hottest biome out of all of them, but it can still get cold. Plants have to be able to withstand little to no precipitation. Since not many plants can do that there are little plants and little shade because of that. There are different kinds of animals that live here that have to adapt to the environment, like Camels, lions, cheetahs, and meerkats.

Grasslands
Grasslands have tall and short grasses with little to no trees. They get enough rain so that plants, flowers, and the grass can survive. Since it's dry the grasslands are at risk for frequent fires. There are several different kinds of bigger animals and also little ones as well. Some of those being Rhinos, Zebra, Antelope, and Elephants. A lot of the animals that live here travel in Herds.

Taiga
Taiga's AKA Boreal forests are the worlds largest land biomes. They are the coldest of all the forest biomes. They have many evergreen, pine, and fir trees. They have very cold and long winters which then allows animals to hibernate. Many kinds of animals live here and migrate to and from here as well. This biome is home to Otters, Lynx, Wolves, and Leopards.
