PROLOGUE
After all the fuss, Scout and Koda went to bed, and Precious decided to go back to her den.
The next day Scout had called, “Everybody meet at the cliff!”
Everybody came over to the cliff, “cheers to the most beautiful cliff…view ....well, something like that .” yipped Scout excitedly but quietly. Koda tried to pick it up again though, “cheers to the best view ever!”
“CHEERS!” Everybody shouted loudly!
The ground started to rumble a bit when they were yelling, all the pups hid behind Koda and Corndog.
The rumbling then stopped.
“It’s okay everybody, if it happens again, Just work your way through it!” barked Scout.
The ground started to shake and rumble even more because of how loud Scout was, everybody kept going though and they then moved on to shaking tails; Brownie shook with Kiki, Scout with Koda, Precious with Kate, and Corndog pretended there was another tail next to him to shake with.
but suddenly the cliff edge was beginning to crack! All the animals fell into a ravine that was below the cliff, they yelped in horror as they landed in the water barely not hitting the ground underneath it! All the puppies
were crying as they got grabbed by Koda and Scout, Koda had put them on her back and she swam to safety.
“Están todas bien?” asked Corndog as Precious growled at the sight of Koda.
“Si todas estan bien. ” Kate told.
All the animals gasped at Kate of her words.
“You can speak Spanish!?!?” everyone asked at once.
“Si, siempre he podido.” said Kate proudly.
“Siempre lo has hecho!??” yipped Corndog happily.
“Me encanta hablar español. ¡Es tan divertido! Es genial hablar otro idioma.” told Kate.
“She said: I love to speak Spanish, It’s so fun! I think It’s really cool to speak another language.” Corndog said.
Kiki was staring because she thought the pack was really weird. (Why are they like this? Are they always like this? They’re weird)Thought Kiki.
“HEY! That's not nice!” growled Snow.
“Huh?” asked Kiki.
Snow was making an angry face at Kiki.
“In your mind you thought: Why are they like this? Are they always like this? They’re weird.” told Snow.
All the animals but Kiki and Snow frowned. Brownie started crying. “Is that really what you think of me?”
“You can read minds?!” questioned Scout loudly.
“Yes, I can.” told Snow.
“Ok ok, read my mind!” barked Scout.
Scout thought of Koda and him and them eating tacos and watching the sun rise with her.
“You're thinking of you and Koda eating tacos and watching the sun rise.” told Snow.
Koda Blushed at the sound of her saying that. Scout blushed too and smiled. Kiki felt bad for making Brownie cry, “I’m sorry Brownie!” Kiki had apologized to only Brownie, Brownie felt better.
CHAPTER ONE
Where are we?
“Are you going to apologize to anyone else?” asked Scout.
“No thanks, I’m good.” answered Kiki.
Scout groaned.
“Daddy?” asked Mountain kindly.
“Yes sweety?” asked Koda “Your dad’s a little busy right now, what do you need?”
“Fluffy bit Water on the side hard, now he’s yipping and there's some red stuff on him .” told Mountain.
Koda ran as fast as she could to the pup, there was a lot of blood.
Stone followed Koda, “Mom let me try something.” Koda stood back and watched. Stone put his paw on water and healed him really fast.
“Woah.” Said Koda.
Stone laid down next to his brother.
Koda was still taking it in that her pups had magical powers.
“I think I’m gonna go try to find shelter for the night.” said Koda quietly.
“Okay!” said stone.
Scout walked over to Koda, “Do you want me and the pups to come with you?” Scout asked.
“No, I’m fine.” barked Koda.
Koda had taken off, after a couple of minutes she found something, “what is that?” Koda had looked up and it was a fully hollowed out tree! “Woah, I better check inside.”
Koda walked into the hollowed tree, it was completely empty except for a little stump for some reason.
“Why is that there?”
Koda ran as fast as possible to where she remembered the pack being,
“Oh Koda we were just about to check on you!” said Scout.
“I’m glad I just got here then! I found a hollowed out tree!” answered Koda.
“Also… how do you know where I went?”
“We don’t!” barked Scout.
“Then… how would you check on me?”
“Uuuuuuuummmm….” Scout was a little embarrassed, after that it got really quiet.
“llévanos a ello!” said Corndog, breaking the silence.
“Okay! Follow me!” barked Koda very excitedly.
The whole pack followed Koda to the tree, “WE HAVE A HOME!” every animal shouted.
“I’ll go find some planks for the floors in the rooms, Brownie, Kiki, you get some materials for the stairs! Koda, you and the pups will design the rooms.” Scout ordered.
“Hey Kiki, Brownie, are you okay with sharing a room? Because we might not have enough space otherwise.” wondered Scout.
Kiki and Brownie both blushed.
“Ummmmmm, i-if it’s okay with K-Kiki.” stammered brownie.
“I-I’m okay w-with it” responded Kiki as she looked at Brownie happily.
Precious walked by,”that’s a bad idea Scout.”
“Oh, okay, then I guess by this behavior in our new house, you’re going to have to share a room with Koda and the pups.”
Precious growled and left to think of something to get
rid of Koda.
An hour later all the resources were found including an exercise wheel, (a dryer), and 4 hours after that were spent on building rooms, stairs, a crib for the pups, a bed for each and everyone else, and decorations.
CHAPTER TWO
The party of Precious
The next morning everybody was having a: yay we survived! Party, Kiki was in charge of the flute, (A hollowed out piece of wood with holes poked through.) Brownie was in charge of the drums, (a wooden dog bowl that’s upside down.) The pups were in charge of the decorations, and both Koda and Scout were in charge of making party games for everybody to play. Precious walked out of the tree and thought of a plan to win Scout over, she went over to a tree and used some leftover rope to tie around a heavy rock, she grabbed
the end that was not tied and put it into a little circle and threw it over a tree branch, when it hit the floor she covered it in leaves, then she hid behind the tree. CornDog came out and saw the trap, “Precious come aqui please!” barked the bulldog.
“What!?” the poodle barked back.
“Can I talk to you por favor?”
“FINE perro estupido.” said precious.
“Ahora ya no me siento especial.” Corndog howled.
As they walked further away the music was now gone.
“Precious I need you to talk to me, do you know that Scout is never going to be with you?”
Precious had been struggling to let her feelings out, she
was remembering old things from her head (“what are you doing Precious?!?!” “YOU’RE INSANE!” “I DON’T LOVE YOU!”)
“Y- ye- yes,” replied Precious.
“You can’t try to force a relationship with Scout.”
“I- I know.”
“So I think you should find another perrito to be with,” said corndog.
“You’re right Corndog, I’m gonna get a different dog to be with!” barked the poodle happily.
“After you apologize to Scout.” told Koda, walking by.
“W-what? I can’t do that! I just can’t!” howled Precious.
Koda stared with her eyebrows raised.
“FINE!!!” barked Precious.
Precious ran back to the tree and got inside, “Scout!” she barked.
Precious had walked inside, all the music had stopped and everyone was playing party games, Precious walked over to Scout and said “Scout I’m s-SORRY.”
Scout was truly amazed, “for what?” he said with a smug smile.
“F-for trying to get y-you to like me ev-even w-when you d-don’t.” Precious whimpered.
Scout remembered some things from his childhood back when they were puppies, and when they were friends:
(You can do it SCOUT! I believe in you SCOUT! You’re my BEST FRIEND SCOUT! Oh don’t be sad, Here, have some of my taco. That’s what BEST FRIENDS ARE FOR! Scout please don’t leave me EVER! Oh that’s okay, toss it again!)
Scout, thought hard,
“I…... FORGIVE you.” said scout.
“Y-you f-forgive ME? After all the things I did?”
“Yes, you are a great dog deep down, It just shows that you’ll do a lot for love.”
“S-so does this mean we're cool?” wondered Precious.
“Yeah, this does mean we’re cool, also, I hope you find the right dog to be with.”
CHAPTER THREE
The one
After Precious was done apologizing, she began waiting for someone to come to be with her; about an hour later She decided that She was going to get out of this dirty ravine, So she found some rocks coming out of the slim side of the ravine, she jumped up on the rocks and found her way out.
She was amazed, so she came back down and told the others, “Guys! I found a way out of the ravine! Come quick!” she barked.
All of the dogs and cats ran out like a stampede of cows, Precious ran in the lead to go show them, but the others
were right on her heels, she showed them the rocks and they all jumped up, Corndog was up last because of his stubby legs.
“Tipo, we should make our tree a casa club.” said Corndog.
Everyone else agreed.
Precious walked to her den and waited, when she saw someone coming toward her direction.
Precious was so excited she walked over there so it would go faster, it turned out that it was a cat, a soaking wet cat, he had gray fur with darker gray stripes, green eyes, and his belly and muzzle was white.
“Hello? D-do you have a shelter that I can u-use?”
asked the cat, shivering.
“Yes,” Precious said, groaning.
“Thank you!” mewed the cat.
“My name is Kyle! What’s yours?”
“Precious, now get inside, I don’t really want to deal with you.”
(how nice) Kyle thought.
Precious groaned again. Two more hours later, Precious decided to go inside, and as soon as Precious closed the flap, she heard a stomp on the doorstep step.
“Uggghhh” growled Precious.
Precious walked through the flap again and saw a dusty light brown Shiba-inu, “huh? Who are you?” questioned
Precious.
“My name is Dusty, how about you?” barked back Dusty.
Precious was trying to figure out if he was the one, she would have to spend time with him before she knew.
“My name is Precious.”
“Oh that’s a wonderful name!” told Dusty.
“Thank you!” thanked Precious.
“It’s my pleasure, here, for a nice lady like you, I’ve got a gift.” barked Dusty as he ran to a nearby rock and pulled a box over.
“Here you go” told Dusty as he gave Precious the box.
Inside was a small collar and a pen, the collar had a
space to write a name on it. Precious grabbed the pen and wrote her name neatly on the collar, though her fur covered it up, Dusty could tell she had a lot of practice.
“Thank you.” barked Precious.
“You’re welcome”
Scout walked out. “Who’s this?” he asked as he stretched.
“My name is Dusty, Black.”
“Nice name, mine is Scout, why don’t you come in?” asked Scout.
“Thank you so very much.” said Dusty.
Scout walked in the tree, he was trying to make a good impression so he did it in a way where he looked very
flexible.
Dusty walked into the tree too, Precious didn’t want to stay outside so she followed them in.
“You have a very nice home.”
“Well, thank you we made it ourselves,” told Scout.
“Good job,” said Dusty.
“So there's a cat named Kate, and a new cat named… Kyle? I think? three other dogs, Kiki, Brownie, and my mate Koda, then there are my children, Water, Fluffy, Snow, Mountain, and Stone.
After they all walked in the house and showed Dusty around, suddenly they heard Fluffy yip out of distress. They ran outside, Kiki and Brownie came too.
It turns out fluffy and water were playing together in a spring.
“Hi mama!” said water. “OH MY GOSH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO FLUFFY?!” yipped Koda. Water was pushing Fluffy under the water.
Water started to cry.
“Blubluububuub!” barked Fluffy
“Don’t worry Fluffy, I'll help you!” said koda
Fluffy was now sinking in the water and had run out of oxygen.
“Bl….. bl….. blup”
Koda stuck her head in the water to get Fluffy out.
CHAPTER FOUR
Kate
Koda could not reach Fluffy, she pulled her head out, it was no longer fluffy or dry.
“Fluffy!” Koda yipped tearfully.
Then they saw something jumping over them into the water.
“Huh?” everyone thought.
It landed in the water and swam down to get Fluffy,
Now it was clear, it was a cat. The cat pulled Fluffy up to the surface, he was coughing out water but he was breathing…. And sneezing
The cat seemed to be a soaked white cat.
Kiki and Brownie were crying their eyes out behind everyone else.
“Please! We owe you so much! What is your name?” Barked Koda.
“It’s me, Koda. It’s Kate.”
Everyone gasped.
“What?” asked Kate.
“I just… I…. I didn’t think you would.. Would do that.” stumbled Koda.
“Well…… today I was inspired to change my ways, so instead of being a grumpy cranky cat all the time, I’m gonna be a NICE cat!” told Kate.
Koda was snuggling close to Fluffy giving licks of affection.
Kiki and Brownie were still crying, but it seems that it’s even louder than before, “that…. Was….so…..beautiful-hul-hul-hulllll!” Brownie says barely audible.
“Please, tell us how you got inspired,” says Kiki, now barely crying.
“Well…. Today I saw one of those humans walking down the stone thing next to where those big things run on with wheels, they were homeless and hungry, so I gave him one of my gemstones by pushing it with my head across the stone,
He gave it to another human in return he got a home and plus something…. I think it’s called… money.
And I had something in me that felt really good, especially after he hugged me, so I’ve dedicated the rest of my life to helping other people.”
“That’s very nice Kate!” barked Dusty.
“I know” told Kate proudly.
“Wait, who are you?” asked Kate.
“Yeah, who are you?” asked Kiki, Brownie, Koda, and the pups.
“I’m Dusty Black,” he said.
“Oh, well… chow!”
Kate walked back to her den,
“aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!”
All the dogs bounded towards Kate's den,”what is it Kate?”
Asked Scout worriedly.
“Four of five of my gems are gone!” said Kate, fainting.
“Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh….” said precious slowly and quietly, her face blank.
“Uuhhh, actually, I gotta go…” said Precious, backing up nervously.
Precious thought, (well I used three to buy that love potion for Scout… and I found an emerald and gave it to Scout….)
She found some clear stone that blocked the entrance of Kate’s den, there was an opening at the side where people normally walked through, she licked it and told Scout something while everyone else was trying to figure out who took the gems.
Precious wrote: u & me dog park @ 3.
She had figured out that SCOUT was the problem, because she was in love with Scout, and she used those gems for Scout.
When Scout came to the dog park “@ 3”, he came to find Precious through the crowds of dogs.
Scout saw a pink poodle that bounded toward him, it looked unlike Precious though, Precious would never
have run like that to crash into Scout. Instead she pounced on him, pinning him.
(oh, it IS Precious) he thought.
“Scout I have something to tell you, y’know how Kate is missing her gemstones? Well…. I Kind of… that was your fault!”
Precious had thought that Scout was the problem because she only took those gemstones for Scout.
“HOW IN THE WORLD IS IT MY FAULT!? WHAT, BECAUSE YOU LIKED ME?!” growled Scout.
Precious looked very guilty. She looked at her paws out of shame.
“Well…Um…Uh.” Stammered Precious.
“Well… what?” questioned Scout.
Precious took a deep breath but when she would’ve said something she didn’t. She sighed.
“Yes Scout, that is what I’m saying.” Precious said as she scowled.
“YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO LEAVE! I DON’T NEED YOU HERE RIGHT NOW!” said Scout.
Precious didn’t leave though.
“I SAID GO!” barked the golden retriever fiercely, baring his teeth.
Precious turned to leave but something made her turn back around, even though her instincts were screaming at her to keep walking back home.
“WHAT DID I SAY?!” barked Scout in a scary voice.
“FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!” chanted the dogs in the crowd.
“You wanna fight or are you too chicken?” asked Precious.
“Sure. I love a good fight. Ahem. I mean I accept.” told Scout.
“Wait what?”
Precious’ eyes were full of fear, she wasn’t expecting him to say yes.
Scout pounced at Precious scratching her ear. Growling and barking and biting. Precious yipped and ran.
“Coward!” barked a dog in the crowd.
Scout chased her and pinned her down. Precious managed to choke out a word. “Please Scout!”
Scout growled.
“DON’T EVEN! I’m your friend!” howled Precious.
Scout felt a bone crack when he pounced on her. He gasped.
Precious managed to scratch his chest and his muzzle.
He Scraped her neck and stomach so hard that she yipped and limped away, she got a couple feet away whimpering, she fell on the ground unable to move. Scout shook his head, “what have I done?” he asked himself as he grabbed her and carried her on his back.
“I…I don’t know what got into me…” Scout said as he
sat down.
He got home, put her in her bed. He went to his own den and Fell asleep with all his pups and Koda next to him.
****************************************************
The next morning Scout was feeling queasy and guilty in his stomach. He has broken her paw.
Scout told Koda about how he and Precious fought, he then walked over to the poodles room
“Um Precious?” he said outside her door
No answer.
“Precious!” Scout started crying. Still there was no answer.
Scout opened the door and she was there on the bed asleep, hurt very badly. She was barely breathing.
Scout felt as if there was a stone in his belly. He just sat there and cried as she opened her eyes and got a glimpse of him, then she closed her eyes.
“I’M SORRY! I’M SORRY I WAS SO MEAN TO YOU!” he cried.
Precious smiled, panting slowly, letting her tongue droop out, and said in a raspy voice “I know you are.”
Scout couldn’t take this anymore. So he licked her where he scratched on her leg and left the room.
As Scout walked out he bumped into Kate.
“Hey Scout.” Said Kate. “I… I don’t think there is a
place for me here. I’m thinking about leaving.”
Scout opened his eyes widely.
“No you can’t! We need you here! You can’t leave! I…”
Kate’s eyes got wide.
“You… actually like me? I thought you hated me!”
“I don’t hate you, it's just… I’m not used to having a cat around. I was used to me and my human, and my dog friends, If you want to leave, I… I guess I won’t stop you, but I WILL miss you,” told the golden retriever.
“OK OK! I’LL ADMIT IT! I LOVE YOU GUYS! I didn’t REALLY want to leave anyway.” admitted Kate, as she hugged Scout.
“Um, wow. Wasn’t telling you to say that but I'm glad
that you're not leaving,” said Scout calmly.
“Also do you know where Koda is?” he asked
“Uuuhhh I think she’s outside”
“Okay thanks!” he said, bolting outside.
CHAPTER 5
KODA GETS HER WAY
There he saw Koda, her fur glistening in the wind, shining in the sunlight. All he could think of was how beautiful she was.
“Hey Koda?” He asked.
“Yeah?” asked Koda.
“I…ummm…I did more than give precious a few scratches, um.. I…Broke her leg,
“YOU BROKE HER LEG?!?!? IS SHE ALRIGHT?”
Koda didn’t wait for an answer, she bolted into the
house to check up on Precious.
Scout followed her and saw that she was licking her ear affectingly.
“You watch her mister!” barked Koda strongly.
She ran out and began stirring wild carrot, eggshells, and orange peels, mashing it up, she then poured a healthy hot broth made of the juice of their prey inside,, she then brought it to Precious.
Scout was watching Koda feed Precious as a grin spread across her face because she was getting all the attention.
Scout walked out of the room with his ears down.
“Hey, SCOUT!” a voice in the shadows said to him.
“Wha-”
A cat came out and smirked. It was a maincoon with silky gray fur, and dusty amber eyes. “Heh. I’m Shia.” said the cat.
“Why does that matter?” asked Scout as he growled.
“Don’t you wanna know the name of the cat who possessed you?” Questioned Shia
“What do you mean?”
“OH WOW! YOU ARE SO STUPID!”
Scout was growling and baring his teeth at Shia.
“You didn’t know you were possessed!?!?! Why else would you attack your poodle friend?”
“How would you even be ABLE to possess me? YOU'RE A CAT!”
“I HAPPEN TO BE THE GREATEST WIZARD OF ALL TIME YOU STINKY SOCK!” defended Shia.
“WHA- YOU ARE RUDE!”
“HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!” laughed Shia as he backed into the forest.
“Dada?” Mountain started to ask kindly.
“Water, Snow, Stone, and Fluffy want you to never be in their lives again.” he continued
“What…?” asked Scout quietly.
“No, no, no! In our pirate game!”
“Phew!” Scout said relieved.
Scout walked over to the other pups and played with them.
“Arrrrr!” said Mountain.
“WALK THE PLANK!” Demanded Snow.
Scout was now on a wood plank on the grass outside walking backwards on it.
“ARRRRR!” Yipped Water.
“Yeah! ARRRR!” Copied mountain as he pushed Scout.
Scout pretended to fall backwards as the pups cheered.
“Alright I gotta go now.”
“Okay Daddy!” said Stone.
****************************************************
Two Days Later
“Precious!” howled Scout.
Precious was now breathing slower and more carefully.
“I-I tried to do something b-but it did nothing!” Yipped Koda.
“What did you do?” questioned Scout.
“I-I gave her medicine from outside that my human gave to me when I was in pain but… nothing…” said Koda.
“She’s really just getting worse,” she added.
Scout whimpered lightly, then letting out a weak howl.
Suddenly something came to his mind, “STONE!” he barked, bounding out of the room.
“STONE I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT JOB FOR YOU!” Scout said, running really fast.
“What is it Daddy?” questioned Stone jumping in
front of him. “oh! He said, stopping by shoving his paws into the ground,, burning his feet. “I need you to heal Precious for me.”
“WHY? WHAT'S WRONG WITH HER?!” asked Stone worryingly.
“Come with me to her room, Stone, I can’t tell you here or the other pups will hear.” told Scout.
They zipped back to her room where Precious lay unable to move.
“Oh my gosh! What happened!?” yipped Stone.
“It- It’s a long story.. Heh.” said Scout nervously.
“Oh… Oh no.” whimpered Stone sadly.”
“What’s wrong?” wondered Scout.
“Um…” she whined.
“PLEASE TELL ME!
“She…She’s hurt too badly.” Stone cried.
“I can’t heal her.”
“SO SHE’S GOING TO DIE!?” Howled Scout.
“Maybe?” said Stone.
****************************************************
THE NEXT DAY
“We meet again.” said Shia, walking up to Scout.
“YOU! YOUR THE REASON PRECIOUS IS GOING TO DIE! YOU!” Scout cried as he charged at him.
“Mmmm, yes it appears that I am. So what would you need from a sly little cat like me?” Shia calmly flicked
his tail while he ran up into a tree. “Easy there. Don’t want to break a claw!”
“MAKE HER BETTER! HEAL HER! I know that you have the power!” barked Scout looking up the tree to concentrate his eyes on Shia’s.
“Why should I?” purred Shia.
Scout growled at his words. “BECAUSE YOU DID THIS TO HER!”
“My my! Such bad manners! Well you are a dog after all.” mewed Shia. “Did you know that I was trying to sell lemonade, and she and her PUPPY friends knocked the WHOLE STAND OVER!?”
“Please! help her!” howled Scout.
“Uh huh- and what will you give me in return?” hissed Shia.
“Ummm… uuuhhh…” stumbled Scout.
“Okay, Let’s say you give me…”
*Shia whispers something into Scout's ear, and he waits for approval*
“One of…. my friends?” said Scout worryingly.
“Yessss, is that ok? I do hate that Spanish one.”
“NO! I WON’T LET YOU!” Scout yipped.
“Oh well suit yourself.” “but it’s not very niceeee to go back on our deeeeeeaallllll.”
CHAPTER SIX
A SAD FAREWELL
“Scout!” Yipped Precious, running to him joyfully.
“You're ok!” barked Scout.
Shia hissed and ran into the shadows before Precious saw him.
“How did you get better?” questioned Scout.
“Stone tried again and again and again, when suddenly, mountain came through, and copied Stone!”
“WOLF!” Howled Koda from the distance.
Scout and Precious ran as fast as they could.
“Marty! Kill them all!” “BUT THERE ARE BABIES!” told Ember.
“Be quiet, you dirty shoe!” barked Marty viciously.
The wolf whimpered and backed up behind the other one.
“TETRA CORNER THE PUPS! CORTANA, JUPITER GRAB THE WHITE ONE, AND THE SMALL ONE!”
“Hey! DON’T TOUCH THEM!” howled Scout.
Marty growled.
“RUTH, BENJAMIN! NOW!” Commanded Marty.
The wolves named Ruth and Benjamin pushed Scout and Precious to the ground. Corndog pulled Scout up, Freed Koda and the pups, then Precious.
“HELP!” Yipped Brownie. “Dusty’s trapped!”
Scout ran as fast as he could to push the rocks on top of
him, but he didn’t have the time to free him. Brownie pushed the rock up with Scout, but it wasn’t enough, Corndog jumped up and pulled the rock off and Dusty ran free.
“Run amigos! Run!” barked Corndog.
It seemed that Kate knew a lot more than the others about where to go if things were chasing you, so they followed her, “KIKI! I NEVER ASKED YOU THIS, AND I’M GOING TO ASK YOU BEFORE WE ALL DIE!” barked Brownie while running. “WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?”
CornDog had caught up with the others now.
“GREEN! HOW ABOUT YOU!?” barked back Kiki.
Brownie blushed,”PINK!”
Corndog ran and led them to a small stump that was large enough to fit them all, “Quick come with me!” He crawled down a hole in the ground that was under the stump, though the stump had a hole too, “this was my hogar before you guys took me to live with tú.
“Get in!” Howled Scout.
All of them got underneath the stump. It was cramped and dirty. There were sharp rocks that made their fur rip.
“Guys.” Corndog sighed sadly.
“What!?” yipped Koda.
“I know a way to survive!” Barked Corndog.
“How?” asked Mountain.
“I…I….I’ll give myself up as bait.”
“NO!” Barked Precious.
“IT’S THE ONLY WAY AND YOU KNOW THAT!” Corndog cried out.
“DON’T DIE!” Yipped Scout.
Scout wanted to say something else but Corndog already was crawling up the hole.
“WE WILL REMEMBER YOUR BRAVE SACRIFICE!” howled Precious.
Kate mewed sadly.
They came peeking out the stump to see if he escaped.
“There he is!” Growled Marty.
The wolves grabbed Corndog by the scruff and shook him hard, losing their grip, Corn Dog was able to get out, and bite Marty's leg. Marty grabbed Corndog again and The other dogs could hear the wolves as they barked loudly.
“STUPID DOG!” Howled Cortana.
They heard Corndog bark and yip, and then a sudden snap!. His neck had been snapped.
“He deserves it.” barked Jupiter.
“NO!” wailed Koda, crying.
All the dog’s ears drooped sadly. The wolves walked out with Corndog hanging from Marty’s mouth.
Corndog’s eyes were closed and it looked as if he wasn’t
breathing.
“I can’t believe this happened!” yowled Kate “You know what? This is your fault Scout!”
“What! How is it my fault!?” growled Scout
“You should have said something! You wanted this to happen! First you tried to kill Precious, but you couldn't, so you went on ahead and killed Corndog.” Kate hissed. “You know what? I’m leaving! Corndog was my best friend!” she said with tears in her eyes.
“WHAT!?” Scout yipped.
“Yeah me too.” growled Brownie.
“Murderer!” Kiki barked loudly.
“I don’t understand! How did I kill Corndog?!?!”
“I um… I'll come too… I guess.” said Kyle.
“If everybody else is going I think I’ll go too.” said Dusty.
All the animals walked out the stump to go home except for eight of them. Precious, Scout, Koda, Mountain, Fluffy, Water, Snow, and Stone.
“JUST GO!” Barked Scout, turning around
“But daddy….” said snow
“I SAID YOU CAN GO!” barked Scout furiously. “Don’t you want to go?” he asked sadly.
Precious walked out the door along with the pups. As they walked out the pups looked back at Scout sadly.
“No, I don't want to go,” said Snow quietly as they left.
“Scout I-” stammered Koda.
“Do you believe that? Believe THEM?” questioned Scout.
“I don’t kno-”
“Nevermind.” Scout interrupted.
Koda curled up into a ball and slept. Scout fell asleep before her and as he slept he snored loudly and Koda thought of how badly he must've felt with all the dogs leaving. And Koda finally fell asleep. In the morning when Koda awoke, Scout was next to her, sleeping.
CHAPTER SEVEN
THE DREAM
The samoyed realized that she was still in the stump, she felt a pit in her stomach. She shouldn't have left Corndog to die, She should have tried to stop him from going over there. She woke Scout.
“Scout wake up!”
“Koda? When did I fall asleep in this stump?”
“Last night” she answered.
“Oh,” he said like a dumb puppy.
“Well we should head back now” he said again.
(DID HE REALLY FORGET HOW HE FOUGHT WITH ME LIKE THAT!? Ok calm yourself Koda, *breathing in and
out*
Ok let's just go for a simple apology.) Koda thought.
“Scout, I’m sorry for last night.” she said, trotting away to outside with him.
“You're forgiven,” said the golden retriever.
(should I apologize back? I mean, I did act like a selfish jerk, but why would everyone else think I’m a murderer? I didn’t do anything to hurt Corndog.) Scout was thinking too.
Koda watched Scout’s blank face as he thought,
(why isn’t he apologizing back? Did he not believe my apolo-)
“I-I’m sorry for being such a jerk yesterday too.” (I hope she forgives me.) told and thought Scout.
(oh he did. And I feel like I should forgive him, I mean, he is my mate. But he Is right, he was being kind of rude yesterday. Oh too late my mouth’s already saying it.) she thought again.
“I forgive you,” she said back.
Scout came close to Koda and gave her a hug. As they hugged, Scout felt a lot happier. The golden retriever went inside and took a nap, Scout woke up and went outside. Scout ran around and panted, sticking his tongue out, the wind was blowing in his face. but then suddenly stopped as he thought about all of his friends
leaving. He wimpered and looked at his paws.
“Why would they leave?” Scout said, starting to cry. “I feel so stupid!”
“I don’t know! I think they were just mad.” Koda said
“Mad enough to quit?” Scout growled infuriated..
“I guess so! But as I already said, I DON’T KNOW!” Koda’s bark became more angry than Scout thought she would.
“HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW!?” Scout
“HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW!?!?” she answered back
“I… don’t. I just think I do,” said Scout quietly.
“Yeah me too…” admitted Koda.
“SCOUT!” yipped Precious to Scout. “I’M SO SORRY!”
“For what?” asked Scout.
“THIS!” Pcrecious growled.
“Huh?” asked Scout.
Scout looked at Precious in the eyes. But then Precious bit him hard. Kate came in and scratched him. All of the other animals except for the pups, dusty, and kyle came in and hurt him. Then just left without saying a word.
“What did I do?!” howled Scout.
Scout’s howl went through the forest. Then the memory of seeing CornDog being hurt surged through his brain.
“SCOUT!” yipped Koda “SCOUT WAKE UP YOUR DREAMING!”
Koda’s voice echoed through his dream. But he wouldn’t
wake up.
“SCOUT!” Yowled Kate.
“I’M SO SORRY!” Yipped Precious.
In Scout’s dream all of his friends continued to hurt him. Then it all just stopped.
“NO!” Scout said as he awoke.
When he woke up he saw all his friends staring at him. He looked at Kate rudely and ran off into the forest.
“Scout?” meowed Kate into the forest.
All of the animals were on Scout's heels.
“WHAT’S WRONG?!” Hissed Kate still running after him.
There was rustling coming from the bush next to them.
Everyone stopped and to the noise. The rustling turned out to be…
CHAPTER EIGHT
THE FOREST
It turned out to be… none other than… Corndog! He was injured badly, but he was alive! Koda ran over to him and picked him up on her back. Everybody was crying tears of both happiness and sadness.
“Corndog! You're alive! But we thought they broke your neck!”
“Don’t worry amigos, benjamin stepped on a rabbit.” he said roughly
Precious fainted at the thought of a wolf stepping on Corndog’s neck.
“How did you escape!”
“Well I said: wanna know why they call me CornDog? Because I’m the best dog at stealing Corndogs! They weren't that surprised that I was alive, because Benjamin told them about it. So I gave them a corndog and they let me go to chomp at it. I ran to ember the wolf, I guess she felt bad for capturing me so she let me go!” he said in a raspy voice.
Scout and Koda exchanged disbelieving glances.
“OK OK! They were too busy fighting over who gets the corndog to notice that I was gone.” but before I lost them in the forest they beat me up, Jupiter bit my thigh, Cortana scratched my ear and my muzzle, and Benjamin was in time out so he only got to growl at me,
then I ran and lost ‘em I brought someone too!” Corndog said excitedly.
A little female white tri aussie puppy with amber eyes walked out of the bush.
“Hi!” She said with a little squeaky voice. “I’m Miya!”
“I met her at their base! She was captured.” said Corndog.
“A little Corgi puppy peeked through a bush at them, and they thought she was SO CUTE.” said a corgi watching them. “Darn it! Did I say that out loud?” The corgi asked itself.
The corgi scittered out and looked at the others
“I’m Burn!” he yipped
“Oh so your Burn theeeeeeeeee… I’m sorry what was is that you are again?” “Corgi!” “Right, so your Burn the corgi eh?” questioned Brownie.
“Brownie!” Kate hissed loudly.
“What!?” Brownie said back.
“I thought that line was made for me!”
“When did I say that!?” asked Brownie.
Brownie thought, but then Kate interrupted. “Remember!? Oh, so it’s Kate the cat, eh?” she mimicked.
“Oh well I ummmm didn’t say that was precisely for you…” told Brownie.
“You can’t do that for everyone else! making lines for people, and USING THEM ON OTHER PEOPLE! I mean…
I thought we HAD something Brownie” Said Kate spitefully.
“What no! What does that even mean?.... I mean… I’m sorry.”
“That’s better.” said Kate with a smirk on her face.
Burn looked up at them all. Then she looked around and saw how beautiful the water and the trees and how beautiful the wild is. She sniffed the strong breeze and looked at the trees. But then the peacefulness broke out because of a howl coming from the mountains nearby.
“Wolves…” whispered Scout.
“WAIT!” yipped Burn.
“What?” growled Scout furiously.
“WE CAN’T LEAVE BEHIND LITTLE OL’ STARDUST!” yipped Burn.
“Who’s that?” Questioned Brownie.
A little gray-blue french bulldog with blue eyes walked out of a bush and looked up at Brownie.
“I’M STARDUST!” said Stardust at Brownie.
“Oh um ok. Well let’s go.” Barked Scout.
They heard a growl coming from the distance. Suddenly a wolf sprinted towards them.
“WOLF!” yipped Burn helplessly.
“Surrender or DIE!” growled the one who seemed to be named Cortana.
“Heh heh heh. NO ONE WILL BE DYING
ON MY WATCH!” Barked Scout vengefully.
Another dog walked out, she seemed to be the biggest of the dogs, along with Scout. She was an Australian red border collie with brown eyes.
“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.” growled the border collie approaching slowly.
“Spark came! She’s here!” Yapped Burn.
“Don’t celebrate yet,” said Spark bravely.
Cortana pounced at Kiki and she couldn’t move her arms.
Brownie ran up and bit her tail.
Cortana had now let go.
“GRRR! Stupid dog!” Cortana shook Brownie off and
bared her teeth widely. Brownie whined and ran towards Scout.
“Don’t touch them!” barked Spark.
Spark ran forward and Cortana realized what she was up against, Spark was the same size as her and she was lunging toward her!
All of the others in the wild wolf pack came in and rushed to Cortana’s side.
“I told you to wait for our signal!” growled Marty.
“Oh. I thought you were going to pick your boogers before we went. So I’m all like ‘no way!’ So I left.” said Cortana.
“You imbecile!” howled Marty.
While they were in the conversation all the other animals charged at them.
“They're coming, and very quickly!” said Jupiter worriedly.
CHAPTER NINE
THE BIG FIGHT
Cortana charged at Precious making her fall down, but then Corndog rode her like a human and a bull, after all, he was a french BULL-dog. Scout was stuck with Marty but finally bit his leg making him stumble and fall over.
“GAH!” grunted Burn as her tiny body squirmed underneath Benjamin, though Benjamin was known for CRACKING necks!
“Burn!” yipped Spark, rushing in to save her.
“Spark help me!” howled the Corgi.
Precious got up and put the pups inside of a long log.
“You stay here” she said, running back into the fight.
Scout charged, knocking down Jupiter who was the smallest of the wolf pack, Scout didn’t stop though, he went for the biggest of the wolves, Tetra.
Spark pulled out Burn, ran over the other direction, and put her down. Then she was going Scout's direction. She was really fast though, she was gaining in on him quickly.
But she didn’t attack him, instead she slowed down to Scout's speed and both of them tackled Marty, the pack leader. Tetra fell over and Corndog, Spark, Scout, and Koda bit her from the tail up to her shoulder blades. Kate finished the attack by scratching her once on the muzzle.
And Tetra wouldn't move because she thought it would hurt too much. Burn, Stardust, and Miya all charged at Ember, Ember never attacked anyone, and she didn’t plan to, but they charged anyway. Ember was all the way next to a bush behind everyone else. Ember just prepared to be attacked and guarded her heart with her tail as she laid down. Instead they all just tried to climb on top of her because they’d seen Spark do it with an enemy once, but Ember was much too tall to climb up with the little paws they had. But Ember thought they were trying to play so she went and grabbed a pinecone.
“What are you doing?” asked Stardust as she tilted her head.
“Let’s play tug of war.” she said in return.
“Tugging of what now?” asked Miya.
“Tug of war!” said Ember.
“What’s that? Asked Burn.
“Here, grab the end of my pinecone.” barked Ember.
Stardust walked over and grabbed the end of Ember's pinecone.
“There, ok, now we tug over it and whoever wins can go up against the next wolf… I mean, dog.”
When Stardust and Ember tugged, Ember lifted it to where the small french bulldog was hanging off a pinecone in the air.
“I wanna go next!” yapped Burn.
Ember pretended to lose so they could play with each other, though it was quite obvious who actually won.
Ruth was the only unhurt one there, “Hi! I think I’m supposed to get beat up like everyone else right?” asked Ruth.
“NO! YOUR SUPPOSED TO WIN!” howled Marty.
“I think I don’t want to get beat up though…”
Ruth walked over and got Jupiter back on his paws, then pushed everyone else back to they’re base, everyone except for Ember.
“Guys, I want you to have this,” said Ember. “It’s my special chew toy,”
Ember dropped a long cylinder piece of cloth with
strings that hung out from the sides.
“Oh, thank you……” Burn hesitated.
“Ember.”
“Right, thank you Ember!”
“Well, if you ever want to play again, our names are: Miya, Stardust, and Burn. I’m Miya. Burn is to my right to me, and burn is to the left of Stardust.” told Miya.
“Okay! I’ll have to get going! Goodbye everyone!” barked Ember. She then scampered off to join her pack.
“Alright, well we have our own things to do… so, bye.” said Spark, and the other pack walked away into the bushes.
CHAPTER TEN
Farewell
“Oh…I forgot to say.” said Corndog, sounding like he was scared. “I met someone. She’s a little mean. Her name- it’s j-Jade.``
A french bulldog walked out of the shade. She had a white shirt with a flower on the back that looked like it was very carefully sewed with shaky hands. She also had a light blue skirt that went down to her tail. She was tan and had blue eyes.
“Hello Corndog. And to everybody else.” she said with a voice that was sweeter than honey.
“H-hi.” Corndog stuttered helplessly.
Their noses touched. Corndog flinched as she touched his. Jade glared and bared her teeth at Corndog.
For some reason she wouldn’t stop. From everyone else’s view it looked like she was smiling out of love.
“Have you been in that bush the whole time?” asked Kate.
“Yes.” she replied.
Koda squealed with an expression of delight. “Corndog, your in love!” meowed Kate excitedly.
“No! I’m not!” Growled Corndog.
“Did you know that I’m named after a rare flower.” Jade interrupted.
“I did!” Mewed Kyle and Kate together. They looked at
each other with their heads tilted.
“Um, uh I’ve been thinking…” said Dusty.
“Thinking what?” Wondered Scout.
“I’m leaving to be with a human. I mean they seem nice!” Dusty said.
Everyone gasped at his despret words.
“But–why!?” questioned Kyle, his eyes wide as he stared at him.
“I just don’t think I belong, I guess.” Dusty said.
“But you do belong! You do! You can’t leave!” Kyle wailed desperately, crying.
Scout sighed.
“I love you Kyle, and we’ll always have a special bond,
and when I’m on my break outside I’ll visit you, but you have to make sure around, deal?” barked Dusty with integrity.
“Deal.” sniffled the minx.
“Dusty… I just wanted to say safe travels. Don’t be a bad dog. Listen to your human. We love you.”
“Thank you, mister Scout,” he said.
Dusty turned around and started walking toward a bush, but then he stopped and turned back around.
“And also, friend Kyle, would you be fine doing some of my chores when I’m gone?”
“I’ll do all of them for YOU Dusty!” meowed Kyle enthusiastically.
“Are you sure? There’s quite a lot.” told Dusty.
“I can handle it!”
“Ooookaaayyy.” said Dusty.
The shiba-inu came over to the manx and dropped something out of his jaw, it was a list of Dusty’s chores,
Kyle read it.
