He was born in 1817 in Concord, Massachusetts he was the third child of his parents. He was an American essayist, poet and practical philosopher. He was known for his lifestyle in transcendentalism as shown in one of his works Warden in 1854. He was also an advocate for civil liberties as he had brought to light in his essay "Civil Disobedience."
Beliefs about Nature
He says that as much as nature helps us to survive it still has violent parts about it.
He viewed nature as this spiritual world on physical. He would often use this as a spot of prayer because that is how he viewed it.
He also viewed nature as just a source of life that was there for us to enjoy and appreciate.
Beliefs about individualism
He believes that you should find the right and wrong on your own rather than following others to figure that out. Another things is that he believes that you should be yourself and not follow what others are doing. This means that you should have your own goals and beliefs instead of doing what everyone around you is doing.
Beliefs about spirituality and religion
He Believed that there was a creator and often in his time period was considered an atheist because he didn't bring himself to just one religion. He also thinks that also people should have some type of spirituality that they should follow but that spirituality doesn't have to come through religion and can come from other things.
