A Story About Adoption and       

Becoming a Family

There was once a sad little girl who spent 

most of her days daydreaming about a happy 

life.

The little girl had so many brothers and 

sisters that her mother had trouble taking 

care of all of them. 

The little girl was the youngest girl. She loved 

playing outside in the dirt with her little brother. 

This was when she dreamed about a happy life.

One day a nice man and lady showed up at the 

front door, the lady was a friend of the little 

girl's aunt. They asked if they could meet the 

little girl. 

The nice man and lady soon began to visit 

the little girl. She looked forward to 

their visits more than anything else. 

Soon the nice man and the lady asked the 

little girl if she would like to visit them for 

the weekend. Of course, the little girl said 

yes! 

The little girl got treated like a princess. 

The nice man and lady gave her everything 

she could possibly ask for, even giant french 

fries! Most importantly though, they loved 

her with all their heart.

Soon the nice man and lady asked the little 

girl if she would like to stay with them 

forever. She was so happy, and of course, 

she said yes!

It felt too good to be true. This was the 

life she had dreamed about for so long. 

The little girl often pinched herself to 

make sure she was not dreaming!

Then all of a sudden the little girl became sad. 

The little girl was very happy and grateful, but 

something was still missing...

The nice lady began to notice that the 

little girl seemed sad, so she asked her, 

“Is there something that is bothering 

you?”

“ Yes," said the little girl, "I miss my little 

brother.”
