PRE-Revolution France
France was not a great place before the Revolution. There was poverty and hunger, do to the lavish spending of the Royal Family. This angered the people of France because the king and queen weren't doing anything about it. So, they decided to overthrow the king and queen.
How's life?
Swell, no hunger at all!
Section 1: Revolution Begins
At The Meeting of the Estates General, in 1789, the 3rd Estate storms out and says they will make their own group named the National Assembly. This ends up with them at an indoor tennis court, because the other Estates locked the door behind them. At this tennis court they take the Tennis Court Oath, which means they will stay away from the other Estates until they get an equal Constitution.

Let us part from the others and make our own!
We're done with this!
Section 2: The People Take Charge
On July 14, 1789, people stormed the prison, Bastille, and burnt it, and there were 94 deaths. This was the first act of violence during the French Revolution. One October 5, 1789, a group of women protested for bread in the streets of Versailles. This struck fear in the King and Queen and they left Versailles because of this.

Give me Bread!
This is what you get!
Section 3: Taking on the World
Prussia declared war on France because of their actions towards the Royal family. France was severely overpowered. The Prussians stood and threatened the French that if they did any harm to any of the Royal family members, then they would attack. On August 10, 20,000 men and women attacked the palace where the Royal family was staying, and they imprisoned them. After they were officially overthrown they made a reform where men could vote and hold office.
'Liberté! Egalité! Fraternité!'
Section 4: Louis XIV'S attempted escape and his execution
King Louis XIV did try to escape, but was caught at a border of France and was taken back to Paris. King Louis XIV had a close trial, but in the end was found guilty of treason. On January 21, 1793, King Louis XIV was murdered by the guillotine.
