After Jesus had washed the feet of his friends, he put on his robe and sat back at his table.

He looked towards them kindly and said, "Do you know what I have done for you?"

"You call me Teacher and Lord and you are right," continued Jesus.

"Because that is what I am."

"So if I, your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet,"

"You should also wash each other's feet."

"Remember, servants are not greater than their master, and messengers are not greater than the one who sends them."
