In a quite field, beneath the golden sun, lived a family of mice. They all worked hard, gathering food for the cold winter - except Frederick.

While the other mice gathered grains and nuts, Frederick sat on a rock, watching the world around him. 

"Why aren't you working?" they asked.

Frederick smile and said...

I am working, I'm gathering sunshine and colors.

Winter arrived. The world became cold, and the mice huddled toghether in their burrow, eating the food they had worked hard to collect. But soon, the food began to run out, and the days became long and gray.

Then the mice remember Frederick.

What about your supplies, Frederick?

Close your eyes, I will bring you the sunshine and colors I gathered

Frederick spoke of the warmth of the sun, the beauty of the blue sky, the bright green leaves, and the red poppies. As he spoke, the mice felt warmer, and the gray winter didn't seem so harsh anymore.

The mice smiled and realized Frederick had been working all along. He had gathered something even more important than food.

He had gathered stories, sunshine and hope.
