Olly was a young, quiet boy.
His family moved around many times, making it
hard for him to meet many new friends. He had
to do many things alone.

He did activities such as...

Until one night, Olly’s father announced that he and Olly's
mother have decided to stay in Oxford for a while. This
made Olly very happy and even eager to start school the
next morning. He promptly kissed his parents goodnight
and then headed up to bed.

All night, Olly was dreaming of all the exciting sports and games
he could play with the new classmates he was soon going to
meet.

The next morning, Olly's teacher introduced him to the rest of the class.
"Everyone say hello to our new classmate, Olly" preached Mrs. Rogers.
"Hi Olly!" screeched the rowdy eight-year old's.
Olly graciously waved to the new faces.
"Now children, make sure to make Olly feel welcomed" Mrs. Rogers advised while
escorting Olly to his desk.

Olly’s excitement, however, soon turned into disappointment. As his classmates
soon lost interest in him and continued to talk to their own friends. Throughout the
rest of the day, Olly grew accustomed to doing things on his own; Doing his art project,
playing baseball at recess, and even singing a solo during music class…leaving him too
upset to eat lunch.

During dinner that night, Olly’s mom pondered why he was acting so strange…
“Olly why are you so hungry?”
“I’m not sure.”
“Did something happen at school?”
Olly peered down at his plate, knowing that he could not tell his mother the
truth he replied, “No mother, I am perfectly fine.”
“Olly, I understand moving has been difficult, but we are here to stay. You are
a generous and kind boy and you will make friends very soon.”
In effort to avoid the subject, Olly looked up from his plate and shouted, “More
please!”

The next morning as Olly was walking to school, he ran into one of his classmate, John Paul
Daniels. Unlike Olly, John Paul was a very outgoing hooligan who sought Olly out as a perfect
addition to his friend group.
“Hey Olly, wait up!” John screeched.
Olly was startled by the fact someone actually knew his name and eagerly yelped out a friendly
“hello."
“My name is John Paul, but all my friends call me JP."
“It is nice to meet you JP" said Olly.
“Since you’re new here, I’m gonna show you how to be popular.”
“Popular?” Olly questioned.
“Yeah, I’ll introduce you to my friends. But, you have to follow their lead…
“Okay!” Olly said without caution
So, for the rest of the day the two boys laughed, did their art projects together, traded lunches,
and at recess JP even introduced Olly to his two best friends, Sam and Fred.
