But lately, Rose wasn’t feeling like herself. She felt tired all the time and needed to drink a lot of water. Even after resting, she still felt weak.

Rose’s parents were worried and took her to the doctor. After some tests, the doctor said, “Rose, you have Type 1 diabetes. This means your body needs a little extra care, but don’t worry—we’ll help you.”

The doctor explained that Rose’s body couldn’t use sugar for energy the way it used to. She needed insulin, a medicine that would help her feel better and give her energy again.
