It was a hot summer day, and Jim was excited to take his dog, Toby, to the park to play fetch for the very first time.

“Come on, boy! Let’s go play!” Jim called to Toby.

Off they went to the park.

When they arrived, Jim noticed the park was quite busy with families and children. But that didn’t stop them! Jim threw the ball over the hill, and Toby raced after it, his tail wagging.

At first, Toby brought the ball back quickly. But after a while, Jim noticed Toby was taking longer and longer. What was he up to?

Over the hill, Toby had started to get distracted by the fun things other people had brought to the park. First, he picked up a toddler’s toy. Then, he snatched a bouquet of flowers from a couple. After that, he found a bat left by a boy playing nearby. Toby gathered all the items and hid them behind a big tree.

Jim began to worry. "Where's Toby gone?" he thought.

He decided to go over the hill to find his mischievous dog. When Jim got there, he saw people looking worried. “Someone took my toy!” cried a toddler. “My flowers are missing!” said the couple. "Has anyone seen my bat?" a boy asked, upset.

Jim was confused—until he spotted Toby peeking out from behind a tree. 

“There you are!” Jim exclaimed and ran over.
