This book was written for a school assignment. All credit should go to Ella Hilton. Destini Williams helped use this site for this book, and she also helped with some of the illustrations. She was more of an editor/publisher.

Chapter 1            Pizza Time

    Mike was in the cafeteria eating

pizza for his lunch. It was pizza

day so they gave everyone pizza.

He had a big smile but not a very

nice one on his face. Next to Mike

was John. John had a small frown

on his face, and a sad one it was.

    John didn’t want to sit by Mike.

Mike was the bully in the school

and nobody liked him. Mike

said, “Hey John, I bet I can finish

my pizza before you!” John

didn’t want to take the bet

fearing he would lose. But he

said, “Ok, I accept your

challenge.” “But whoever loses

has to walk the boardwalk.”

Chapter 2                The Bet

    John’s heart stopped. Walk the boardwalk? That was every kid's nightmare. The boardwalk was a very broken up and un sturdy bridge

across a very gross pound with algae and grass and creatures. It was disgusting.

    So the battle started. They

fought and fought. People

gathered to watch. John ate

fast but Mike ate faster.

Then it was over. Mike had

won. That meant that John

had to walk the boardwalk.

He just hoped it wouldn’t

break over his weight.

Chapter 3            To the Pond

    John panicked. How could

he get out of this? He didn’t know what to do. Then they were there. He had to do it. John couldn’t. He couldn’t do it. His mom would be mad at him for his clothes

if he fell in and he would be all sticky. “I can’t do it,” he said.
