Blair and Claire are sisters who typically are best friends. Some would say, attached at the hip, actually they are! Blair is more outspoken, Claire always handled the more intimidating social interactions and Blair liked it like that most of the time. The only person she felt she could truly be herself around was Claire and she felt safe around her, normally. Claire was very outgoing and made sure to not let being conjoined hold her back. She was very involved and was always down for an adventure. Sometimes she didn’t always think things through but Blair usually kept her in line and out of trouble. They have grown used to it over their 15 years of living, but on some days when the one is having a hard time finding identity aside from the other, it can spark a little tension between these berries.

Every year that they can remember they have delivered a home-made cake to their grandparents for grandma's birthday. For the first time, their parent-cherries were going to watch their little brother's baseball game and entrusted the girls to deliver the cake all by themselves. Each year they took the same path that led all the way from their back yard to their grandparents front yard. The only bad thing is it was about a 2 hour walk, each year they would visit and eat cake, stay the night, and after their morning coffees and hot chocolates they would walk back the next morning. Their mom made sure to repeatedly tell the girls before they left, “leave before 5 so you don’t end up walking alone at night, and follow the path directly.”
The girls simultaneously said, “Yes mother!!” Easy enough, right?

Mom, dad, and brother Cherry left around 3 pm for the baseball game and the girls began getting ready for their walk. Claire insisted on showering first because she did not under any circumstances want to take a shower at grandmas. Blair told her, “ you must go quickly because we still have to pack a bag and need to leave so we don’t get caught in the night.”
“Yes Blair, I know, I will shower super quick and we will have plenty of time to get ready.”

This was not the case. The shower took nearly an hour and makeup and hair took about double. It was nearly time to leave and the girls hadn't even begun to pack a bag. Blair was starting to get nervous but trusted that Claire would also not want to be outside in the dark. They quickly threw one shared bag together with their toiletries, some pajamas, and some walking clothes for tomorrow Blair packed a book and Claire packed a mp3 player. And they walked to the kitchen to get the cake. When they were walking out of the door Blair caught a glimpse of the clock, it was already 5:45. They would have to seriously speed walk in order not to worry anyone. As soon as they made it out Clair led them to the garage and said, “if we are going to make it in time, it’s goingto need to be on wheels.” She got out her little brother's platform scooter and secured the cake to the front so they could keep a close eye on it. They began on their way.

Their ride started rather rocky as they couldn’t figure out how to scoot quite evenly and hold the cake and steer all at the same time. But nonetheless, they were making better time than they would hopping along. Claire, trying to help, said, “Let's cut through the grass, we won’t even notice a difference in the scooter and it will be much quicker going straight through.”
“I dunno,” said Blair.
“Come onnnn, unless you want to be walking in the dark.” Claire countered.
So off they went.
