A long time ago, people from far away came to a new land called America. They were looking for a place to be free.

But soon, the people who came here realized that they still had to listen to a king from across the ocean in England.

The people wanted to make their own choices, but the king made rules they didn’t like, and they had no say in it.

One day, they had enough. They even threw the king’s tea into the water to show they were unhappy!

People like Benjamin Franklin used words to spread ideas of freedom. They wrote letters and talked about a place where everyone could be free.

And when the king sent soldiers, brave people like Paul Revere warned everyone, saying, ‘The British are coming!

People from all around joined together, becoming the first American army, even though many were just farmers.

A man named George Washington led them. He was strong and brave, and he believed in the dream of a free country.
It wasn’t easy. The winters were cold, and the soldiers often didn’t have enough food, but they never gave up

Finally, they decided to tell the king they were free. They wrote a big letter called the Declaration of Independence.

A man named John Hancock signed his name the biggest. He wanted the king to see it!

Everyone helped, even kids and moms! They made clothes and food for the soldiers

Some people, like Benjamin Franklin, asked other countries for help. France decided to help America win the war!

After years of fighting, the Americans won a big battle at a place called Yorktown. The British knew it was time to go home.

At last, America was free! The people cheered and celebrated their new country.
