On a sunny Tuesday afternoon, 

Edgar and Allan went to the 

candy store.

"Where is all of the candy?" the 

boys asked.

"I'm sorry," said the store owner, 

"someone stole all of the candy 

yesterday.

The boys left the store very 

disappointed. They were 

not going to give up on 

their candy so easily.

Edgar and Allan went to the park hoping to find the thief. 

However, they could not find any clues. 

"What about that mean kid Jimmy from class?" Edgar 

asked.

"It had to be him!" Allan exclaimed, "He always gets in 

trouble!"

The boys sneaked around the park until they saw Jimmy 

chewing on a piece of bubble gum.

"That's probably gum from the store!" Edgar said angrily. 

Allan pulled out a phone and called Jimmy's mom.

Only a few minutes later, the boys saw Jimmy's 

mom pick him up from the park, looking very upset 

with him. They walked home happy that they had 

done the right thing.

     Meanwhile...

"Yes all the candy is hidden," the store 

owner said on the phone. "I should be 

getting the insurance money this 

week. No one will know."
