
Once upon a time there was Geppetto, a poor carpenter who whishes for a son. He decides to build a puppet from the piece of wood and to call it Pinocchio.
Pinocchio comes to life but he is disobbedient. He goes to school with his alphabet. On the way he hears the sound of pipers. At that point, he goes to the end of the street and discovers the great puppet theater.
Pinocchio sells his alphabet, forgetting the sacrifices made by Geppetto to buy it. With the money he gets, he pays for the ticket to the puppet show.
The puppets performing in the show notice Pinocchio's presence, stop the performance, and invite him into the stage.
Unfortunately, Mangiafuoco, the director of the teathre, gets angry and decides to punish Pinocchio by telling him, that he will use him as firewood.
Pinocchio cries and despairs all night because he misses Geppetto.
Lukily,the next day, Mangiafuoco decides to give him five coins and set him free, allowing him to reunite with his father.
During the journey, Pinocchio meets the Cat and the Fox, who appear kind, but actually intend to deceive him. They tell him about a Field of Miracles, where coins usually grow.
The next day, the Cat and the Fox ran away with Pinocchio's five coins. Pinocchio is very sad; he hopes to meet the Talking Cricket, but instead, he encounters two murderers who tie him to the Great Oak. They leave him there for the whole night.
The Blue Fairy decides to save Pinocchio. She takes him to her home and she calls a doctor, who orders him to drink a bitter medicine because of Pinocchio's high fever.
Once Pinocchio is healed, he decides to return immediately to Geppetto. He says hello to the Fairy and promises her to behave in a good way. After a while, he meets Candlewick, the naughtiest boy in school. Candlewick goes to the Land of Toys, a place where you can play all day and eat lots of sweets. Pinocchio follows him.
