In 623 BC, Siddhartha Gautama was born into a noble family in the Providence of Lumbini, located in Southern Nepal. His mother was a Koliyan Princess, and his father was the head of the Shakya clan.

He was born into a beautiful kingdom. When he was born, the court astrologers predicted that he would become a great sage or Buddha.

Your son will become a Buddah, or great sage of the world. There is no doubt.

Because of this prediction, Buddha's father shielded him from the real world and suffering in order to protect him.
I must protect him. I fear he will practice strict self-denial for spiritual discipline if he experiences suffering. I will give him all of his desires.

After 29 years, Buddha finally convinced his father to let him leave. This is when he came into contact in the real world. In the streets he saw an old man, a sick man, and a corpse.

These sights deeply trouble me. I wonder if there is a way to over come all of this suffering.
He decided to leave his kingdom in search for answers to the problem of suffering.

Bye!!!
Bye!!
He learned from his two teachers Alara Kalama and Udraka Ramaputra. He learned how to train his mind to enter the sphere of nothingness and how to enter the mind’s concentration zone.

For six years, he also practiced asceticism by eating single grains of rice and conflicting mind against body.
