Author's Note - This story is based on real life events that happened. Nyambe is not a real character and is merely an example of real people. I have read A Long Walk To Water and other nonfiction stories to build together this story. The events in these story show the journey of Nymabe. The purpose of me writing this book is to inform people about the lost Boys and Girls of Sudan.

Nyambe is a 14-year-old boy who likes to play soccer with his friends. He also likes to help people around the house. When he has time, he helps with the fields and the hens.

When his mother and father aren't home, he, as the oldest, has to care for his five brothers and five sisters. Nyambes's mother also always made him strawberry coke by mashing the strawberries and the coke together. He always enjoyed it under the sun while feeling the coolness of his drink.

Nyambe is at his desk doing a math worksheet, but he cannot help but feel that something's off. After looking out the window, he finds that the long-awaited war is starting.

Everybody starts freaking out and running around the room. Still, Nyambe starts running down the stairs and remembers the bushed-up cave. So he runs over to the cave that he hoped no one had seen him he and enters.

Nyambe enters the cave and sees a group of people who invite him to travel with them.
When Nyambe and the group started walking, they heard some noises. They had found a stock of meat, like someone used to live down here.

Nyambe cooked the meat, and they had a feast. After the meal, they rested for the night. A year had passed since Nyambe and the group started walking, and in that year, they finally found the exit, so they started the second part of their journey.

Nyambe kept walking for another year straight. Everything edible was eaten. One fateful day, Nyambe found a camp for lost people. So he entered, and the line was so long that Nyambe had to wait an hour to get in. When he finally got inside the camp, he got food from the camp and went to bed.

Nyambe lived there for 2 years until one day, people from the war came and raided the place. Everyone had to leave. Nyambe spent an hour walking to Kenya. In Kenya, they had another camp for the lost boys and girls of Sudan.
